Cisco 2611 is running slow. How can I check traffic and info?

I telnet into the router and the command prompt is so slow. It take seconds for the text that I type to pop up.
I tried doing a "sh IP accounting" but it doesn't show me any info.

Any suggestions?

1560 errors. Do you think this is whats causing the problem?

I'm new to cisco routers and I'm the only one capable of resolving this issue because my co-worker is on vacation.

I'll turn the router off during lunch for few seconds and turn it on again.

clear the counters (clear counters), a reset is likely to resolve nothing. It rarely does.

It looks like the serial interface is pretty heavily loaded, along with tons of error and drops. This would cause a very slow WAN circuit.

Also ping the local interface of the router from the remote end, that will give a quick indication of response times.

"show proc cpu" will show the cpu utilization of the router. Shouldn't be more than 60%.

let it run for a while and do "show int" again and see if the error or buffer drops increases - you should have any errors and buffer drops means an interface is overloaded with traffic.
