cisco 2524

I'm trying to connect to a cisco 2524 router. I have a laptop setup with a db9 serial connect to rj45

I'm running hyperterminal and I have the settings set to

9600 baud
8bit
no parity
1bit stop
no flow control

We just aquired this as a donation and we don't know any of the passwords, if there a way to reset it to factory and connect or should we be able to connect?

Help please

Thanks

i'v gone through that guide like 3 times, I can't do any of it if I'm not even getting a response from the router on my terminal PC

the RJ45 to DB9 cable requires a special patch cable, that is basicly rolloever, pin 1 to pin 8, 2 to 7, 3 to 6, 4 to 5
