Cirque Du Soleil

Just saw Zarkana last night in Radio City. Wow.
My first Cirque show, so I was prepared to be wowed, but it was more than I expected.
Of course the trapeze guy who missed his landing and fell to the net should be fired. 🙂

I saw mystere a few years back in vegas and it was amazing. Then I saw their traveling show under a tent, and it wasn't as great but still good.

I LOVE Cirque, but where have you been? It's been going on since the 90's.

I've seen way too many of those to the point all shows have a rehashed material.

Corteo > Alegria (Best music though) > O in Vegas > Kooza was shitty

I was going to see O when I was in Vegas earlier this month, but it was sold out. tickets were like $200/person as well. the concierge recommended we see this show called La Reve, which was very similar to O and some people even think it's better because every seat in the house is good. it was also $125/ticket which was nice.

my wife and I were pretty awe'ed by the whole show. it was simply amazing and i'd strongly recommend it if anyone is in vegas.

I love Cirque shows! Ka and Allegria are my favorites. I thought some of the stunts in Kooza were great.
The only one that I didn't like was Wintuk. I didn't think it sucked but it wasn't very good.

I saw them for the first time this spring. I have to admit I wasn't that into the theatrical aspect of it, but the acrobatic/gymnastic parts of the show were amazing.

Which one did you see? Some of the showing under the same Cirque umbrella can be shitty as night and day (like Kooza vs Corteo/Alegria)

Yea looks pretty lame as any other $$$-milking newer productions (Kooza, Believe, Love, Immortal, etc).

Some of the 'original' shows are far better with crazier/elaborate act.

I suggest you check out Corteo. It's a total aerial themed show. Everyone is hung on the wire (complete with a bed, sleeper, & angels). At one point, you are just totally in an awe with everyone all with the head looking up.

I've seen the following Cirque shows in Vegas

Love (awesome, best show ever)
Mystere (awesome, but liked Love better)
O (really good, but my seats sucked which took away from my experience)
Zumanity (ok, wouldn't see it again)
Viva Elvis (mediocre, but this show has been retooled since I saw it)

I've seen a number of Cirque du Soleil shows - they're all starting to blend in... except for the first one (you always remember your first!). It was Saltimbanco and it was a traveling show, tent and all. Unlike now where it seems that it is all about the production and set, Saltimbanco was more "circus-y" in feel. It was also a concert. They had an extensive band playing the whole soundtrack live while the other performers were doing their stuff.

There will be one coming to our town in a few months, Dralion. I never been to one before.

Tickets will be $142 (closest to the performers), then $92, $72, $52, and nosebleed at $32. Is it worth it to pay for the more expensive seat?

Mid-stadium seating is best for Cirque shows. You want to be close enough to be able to enjoy the detail, but far enough away to be able to see every part of the stage well.

At this point, I've only been blessed enough to have seen 1 Cirque show.

In contrast, I've unfortunately been cursed enough to have seen 2 Blue Man Group shows (absolutely no need to see them >1 afaic.)
