Cirque Du Soleil

Thinking of taking my girlfriend to circus soleil next time it is in town. Any good? Worth the cash? How much do I expect to spend? Will tickets be hard to come by? Thanks

Depends which particular show.

Attended Allegria during the fall of 2004 (tickets were a gift from a client) here in Nyc. A number of the regular attenders lamented it was not one of the better versions, though a great deal of it is personal preference, of course.

The arena was quite full, but most events here in the city are.

I have no idea just saw a clip of of them from leno where they're hopping in and out of fish bowl while contorting their bodies. Seemed like something she would like. What do you recommend?

i saw mystique in vegas. i got the tickets for free but i think it definately would have been worth the money (90 bucks?) it was the most amazing performance i have ever seen

I saw Zumanity in Vegas this past summer. Awesome show. Their 21 and up rule made it even better for this show (no whiny/crying kids). Would have seen Mystique too but they were not playing the 2 days i was there and "O" was sold out.

Definitely worth it to go at least once.

Yeah it depends on the show. I saw one as a kid and it was pretty damn good. Then my parents go see one with other family members, and they all said it was horrible, unanimously.

Absolutely awesome show. The ones in vegas are great. I personally liked Mystère way better than O, because I'm more interested in the acrobatics than the set. Last week, took a peek backstage at KÀ at the MGM Grand. That's going to be crazy. 🙂 It hasn't "officially" opened yet (just preopen), but it should be sweet.

i fell asleep...Blue man group on the other hand...worth it!

i went to both

they were ties, since blue man group is unique

i want those speakers that they have in the theater . . . they blow WIND IN YOUR FACE!!

Saw "O" at the Bellagio. Well worth the money, and I got front row seats. I think there are DVDs that you can check out. So maybe you can preivew Cirque before you fork out the cash.

I've seen "O", "KA", and "Allegria".

If you never seen one, I think it's worth the money completely.

KA (new at MGM Grand) - Very Creative (reminded me of Final Fantasy VII) - still waiting on their soundtrack.
Allegria (traveling around) - They do many difficult tricks. What you see on the commercial is pretty much it.
O (at Bellagio) - They do similar things like Allegria, but with water.

All 3 are good, but I liked KA the most. Great music for all Cirque de Soleil.

I've seen "O" and "Mystere" in Vegas. I saw Mystere first and was blown away. O was really good too, but my seats were considerably crappier. That said, I still think Mystere might have been the better of the two.

i saw the following:

mystere in vegas: definitely worth the money
dralion in houston: good show, worth it.
going to go see varikai on february 4th: ??

but in general, if you havent seen any of the cirque du soleil shows, its definitely something you can do with your SO.
