TDK 50 CDR 80 minutes $1.99 after two rebates. Here's a link (fixed). If that doesn't work, search for CDR80CB50T.

A heads up on one of the rebates: it's valid from 10/1/01 to 9/30/02 with a limit of 3, so if you've already bought these another time at Circuit City with this particular rebate, you may be banging up against the limit. The other rebate is valid 4/1/02 to 4/6/02, so not much problem with that (limit is 1).

It actaually is in this weeks ad, but it's a misprint. It's says 4.99 after rebate, but it's actually $26.99 -10MIR- 15 MIR= 1.99 after rebates plus tax. A very hot deal I'd say. And I know the question is coming so I'll answer it now. These are not Taiyo Yudens, they're made in Taiwan, but they do have a nice surface for writing on.

Thanks a lot for this post. This is hot.

I just wanted to make sure that everyone knows that the CC rebate has a limit of 1. The TDK rebate has a limit of 3. So the first one is $1.99. The other two will be $16.99.

I know you said it, but I misunderstood your post and I wanted to try to clarify for others.

I like the PNY cdrs... but I was just and Circuit City and the TDKs that have the white twist on top are Toyos... Made in Japan. So 3 bucks for some Toyos is really nice... If there is no twist on top just the clear plactic case they are not Toyos...

ok..i went for the CC ones. CC is closer than best buy.

The ones I got had a black (not white) twist top on top. The twist top is on the outside of the plastic spindle holder which just placed on top of the base. There were some others right next to it, same product number, they had a clear plastic top inside the spindle holder and the spindle holder was a twist into base thing.
 
Black twist are still Toyos! I should have been more clear sorry... If they are made in Japan and have any color teist top they are Toyos and one heck of a buy... Most feel they are the best Cdrs you can buy.
 
These are free after rebate if you PM to Target. CC has them for 26.99 and Target has them for 24.99. So if you wanna get anal about it, you can get these for free. Just a warning - the discs DO say "Made in Taiwan" on the side. Chances are these aren't the Taiyo Yudens. Even if they're not, free-1.99AR is nice for 50 80min discs.

Thanks for the deal. Pick one up yesterday. One strange thing I notice though...on the web site, it stated these cdr's are 16X. However, the one I got was 32X and the Model # is the same but without the T at the end. Anyone else got this?
 
Yes, same 32x here, UPC doesn't have the T at the end, but the receipt has the T at the end, so I'm sure we are ok with the rebate.

It still shows personal information. This time it is someone in NYC.
