I dont know any further information about this sale tommorrow and hoped to find information posted about it here but no one has posted anything. If you know it will suck or is going to be great please post what you know.

Yeah, I would go but if I do I have to drive 60 miles and would prefer not to waste my time if I can help it by finding out what is on sale. If it isnt computer stuff I am not really interested.

They actually started their inventory clearance today already. I went to a CC store today, and that sign is everywhere. But I don't see any deal that attracted me though.

I picked up an ATI 9700 Pro- Retail box for $121.99 last night . There wasn't any sale sticker on it, just a regular price tag on the shelf. Good card for a budget upgrade.

Not bad at all.

I was at CC today - the majority of the clearance merchandise at a store in the Pittsburgh area was all open box. Didn't walk out feeling all that excited and the discounts were 20% at best.

I like pizza too. But more importantly, where'd he get the 9700 pro from and were there any more?

Im in computer sales at circuit city and as far as I know there will be some warm deals, but nothing hot. We have a hp laptop going for $899 after rebates which is pretty much junk, but I know there will be some cheap ass that will come in, buy the laptop, and leave with out any warranty or accessories screwing up my day. I believe our new ad is up so check the website www.circuitcity.com

Zeppelin-Are you sure you have the right forum? You are in the middle of a bunch of hot deal fanatics who will NEVER buy extended warranties or accessories and will make every attempt to get a lower price by any means possible, thereby screwing up your day.

What was the the price before MIR? Any Instant rebates or anything on the price?

It's actually a good idea to get extended warranties for a laptop, especially if you can get it for really cheap.

My CC had a bunch of banners from the ceiling about "clearance"

slim slim slim pickings on anything

waste of an ad :-(

It got you all to go into the store, so I would say their marketing campaign worked. I have a CC ~3miles from me, so I'm to check it out when I go to get some groceries. 🙂

I wasted the gas locally to see items discounted 20 to 30 % - whoopee! No wonder there was an empty lot at Noon while Best Buy was full. This store just does not know how to stay alive by dealing.

Thanks for the notice OP.

You're right, of course, but they're never "really cheap." Generally, they're only worth it if they're appx. $50 or less. The remainder represents pure profit, commission, etc. Of course, if you get the lemon laptop, you always wish you had bought the extended warranty. 🙂 Generally, however, the odds are in your favor that if something big will go wrong, it will be during the regular warranty (or after the extended warranty).

Also, CC, and BestBuy are notorious for selling their extended warranties by lying to customers about what is covered, while the fine print excludes it, so be cautious if you do buy it.... not everything they say is covered is actually covered.
