Circuit City : WD HD 45Gig - 99 After rebate.

It's not hot but decent. 45 Gigs WD 5400 RPM drive 150, 30 WD rebate, 20 circuit city rebate.

I dont know how good these rebates are but it's cheap if its good.

I just read through the rebate forms on the CC website and both claim you must send in the ORIGINAL UPC from the box. This seems like a fiasco in the making! It's too early to call a store here but maybe someone else will call and post their findings.

Circuit City mail-in rebates always accept a photocopy of the UPC. So send the original to the manufacturer.

buy a drive from bestbuy, photocopy the receipt, then return it - for all you people who sent in the compusa rebates (so long as you photocopied the upc's) you can get $20 more back. that's what i'm gonna do today. $39.99 - $20 = $19.99. Mmmmmmmm....

I used this for my price match at CompUSA. I had to remind the clerk that their policy states they will beat the price not just match it. He then gave me another $10 off so my out the door price is now $139. I am filling out the rebates slips today.

FYI on the Compusa $60 rebate, it requires a receipt dated between 10-7to 10-14.

Adding a 45 gig to a 15hr Tivo gives you a 72hr setup.

I have been trying to get a new hard drive for some time now but no luck for me.
I just tried to order this HDD from Circuit City - they are out of them in the whole Tampa bay area. I am very very sad

you don't need the original upc for both rebates. the circuit city mir only asks for a copy of the upc, and the copy of the upc is alread included on the rebate form that you send to cc (they print out the form for you at the register).

Well, I went to the Circuit City store in Poughkeepsie, NY. All sold out. Clerk tells me that someone came in early in the morining and bought all three. Sounded like he was surprised. And of course sounds like an Anandtecher. ehehhe....

I went to a Circuit City nearby and was able to find a box (it was hidden) and went to the checkout...only to have it ripped out of my hands, because someone bought it at some other store and it was the last one in stock...However, they told me that the wherehouse had 39 in stock as of 2pm and all I needed to do is wait until tuesday to drop by and grab it again at the store with my receipt. I unforutnately just checked the website and it said not available right now so I'm hoping that my order this afternoon at the store came through first...special order also doesn't need any surcharges and stuff. oh well. i hope you guys n nj got yours...I'm still having trouble in los angeles...oh well.
