I called CC this morning....spoke to a great CSR. She told me that....it will be honored because there was some confusion. I was put through to customer support and they gave me all the necesarry information.

FYI here is the link that was posted earlier to the screenshots and what not.

One gets the original UPC and the other gets the capacity label.

I suggest that the original UPC goes to the $80 one.

Also, include a copy of your confirmation email with both rebates.

Hope this saves people some time by not calling to find out this info.

So is it possible to still get this today? I see no rebates listed on CC's website. From what I've read, WD is not honoring both anyway? What documents should I take with me to get this? The expired $60 or the "new" one?? I can do this either online or B&M, whichever will work. I guess I'm interested in going the $60 price adjustment route?

Appreciate the details!

Ooops, I thought the $80 rebate was good until the end of the month, now I see!!

Funny thing, I printed off all the rebates/web page on Thurs. and was going to do this. I changed my mind after some initial posts made it sound like a no go, silly me... I should have just ordered it, could've always returned it.

Oh well, on to the next deal.

I called the WD Rebate Center number on the $60 rebate 1-888-292-0667 and was told the following:

1) You must have proof of purchase from April 24th.

2) Put the original UPC and both the $60 and $80 rebates in the same envelope. Don't forget your receipt or email confirmation. Send it to either the $60 or $80 address (it doesn't matter which one).

That's it. End of story. Pretty simple.

I called WD since they will be the ones cutting the checks.

Not likely unleess you get a real nice manager at CC. I think this deal is dead unless you were lucky enough to get it on or before the 24th. You caould alwyas try it and return the drive if they won't give you the credit.

Bunch of nut heads..( i am saying that in the nice way ;)). i bet u thery are not going to honor one of those $60 or $80 rebates if u send them both in.

ok this is what happens folk if u new to the forums..if u dont know then watch and learn..dont make up your own conclusions. Calling and asking them was the exact reason in the first place that WD said they are not going to honor the rebates.

I called the Circuit City rebate center and was told the same thing that pjcshop was told. Note that this differs from what shenfo was told.

I am curious what others are hearing.

But the rebate PO Box's are different, so lets see what everyone else comes up with and go with the most common answer

I was told that both addresses will work since they go to the same physical place. The rep told me that either address is acceptable.

Personally Im going to wait till I get the info in writing. Shouldnt be too hard for them to type one up and send it out. That way I have all the info I need to submit with my rebates, and follow up if it dosent go through

Good luck,
Jax

Was a no go with this CSR; he said the $60.00 rebate would be honored but if it got kicked back for any reason, the store would then credit me. He entered this info into their computer system and printed out a new receipt with said info. The outside of the box said the drive had a 2MB cache, opened it up, 8 MB cache, woot!!

Update: called the store I picked up the drive from and asked to speak with the sales manager. I explained the situation to him, he says no problem, transfers me to a CSR who gives me the $60.00 IR + tax over the phone. Picked up a copy of Ghost originally when I picked up the drive, so good deal, thanks

While I don't see myself sending in for the $60 rebate as that would be fraud since I already got my instant credit, a CC csr called me today & left me a message on my answering machine:

"We are very sorry for the confusion and inconvenience. Western Digital will honor the rebate. Send a copy of the upc code with the $60 rebate request. Once again, we are very sorry for the confusion."

Hope this helps those who DID NOT get the $60 instant credit.

They guy I got on the line says we will only honor those that were placed on the 24th. He said on the 25th they, "fixed" the glitch.

Anyway now I'm on hold while he's calling my store manager from where I bought this from.

Is this guy just misinformed?

No. The one thing that has been consistent is that they state will ONLY work for drives purchased on 4/24.

On another note, since people are getting different answers as to what and how to send it, I plan to send both the $80 and $60 in the same envelope, with my UPC and capacity label, my email confirmation, my merchandise pickup receipt, the email where CC said that the rebate would be honored, and a detailed description (with all nice words of course :)), and send it to the $80 addy.

I, like others, have it in writing on my receipt that my CC will refund me the $60 if it gets denied. Hopefully, it won't come to that though...

... well, here is the information I just got from CC (they called me back): I am supposed to send in the $60 rebate but in a separate envelope! Did someone else get this information?

shenfo, linus20 -
So basically they told you to send them in as specified on the rebate forms? Did they say to put a copy of the UPC in with the $60 form?

I called them too (don't shoot me) and was told to put both rebate forms ($60 and $80) in one envelope and they would honor both provided your CC receipt shows a purchase date of 4/24.

Also purchased a 120G drive from OM on 4/25

$179.99 OfficeMax drive
+$159.99 Circuit City Drive
- $ 11.50 PM from CC to OM when it reduced price to $149.99 on 4/27
- $ 34.50 PM from OM when they reduced their own price on 4/27
- $ 80.00 OM MIR
- $ 80.00 CC MIR
- $ 10.00 CC MIR
- $ 60.00 CC MIR hoping they take both since I purchased on 4/24
- $ 60.00 CC instant price adjustment
- $ 25.00 OM instant coupon
______________________
Should come out ahead by $25...worse case I end up with 2x120GB for about $30?????

Well after the CSR got back on the phone he told me that the manager will issue me $50 price adjustment. (because they took off $10 the first time, telling me not to send the $10 MIR in) So now I have to send the $80 and $10, and the $60 has been taken care of. Works for me. :)
