People! Calm down! If you want the $60 rebate! just make sure you have a printout of the product page listing all the three rebates and having the $60 rebate page printout will help. Just take it to a local CC's customer service desk and tell them that u called WD and they won't pay the advertised $60 rebate because they said it was a mistake. But make it a point that it was clearly advertized on the CC website. my CC refunded and credited me the $60 to my credit card. Hope you guys have Good luck with ur manager!

Hope this helps!

This really really sucks. It is disappointing that the time isn't listed on my printout of the $60 rebate form. Maybe we should take the initiative and confront Circuit City directly about reimbursing us for the $60 instead of waiting 3 months and then fighting it.

"If you're saying you have screen caps of the info needed to get rebates without buying it, then that's fraud and that is illegal. "

Do you not READ or THINK? How hard is it to understand that what he means is he have ss of all the rebate webpages (with the old dates)?

Dude, read up a bit. There WAS a $60 at one time. They have removed it from the info page and changed the date as of a few minutes ago... =) I dunno if you have a diminished leg to stand on now, since you would be purchasing it at a time when the information has been removed, but it is probably a bit less likely to work now than it did a few minutes ago. GL either way.

I have a web page made that displays all the original info , including the $60.00 rebate with the original dates.
Receive a $60 mail-in rebate with the purchase of the following:

WDC WD1200BBRTL
Qualifying items must have been purchased between 04/01/03 and 04/30/03.

I am am not advertising where it is just yet. due to legal reasons

Anyone in the San Jose area able to get them to give you the 60 dollar credit.

I went to one at Eastridge. and they just told me to come back if I get denied.

Probably sleep on it and then bitch again if not I'll request refund.

That way you may have some/better proof to get the rebates from someone.

How do you look at temp internet files?

Lucky for me I have 2 good friends who are managers at different circuit city's so I am getting mine for the $60 + $80 + $10 off. They told me not to even bother sending the $60 one out, just to go to one of them and they will drop the purchase price $60 then to send out the other two. They said depending on what type of manager you get, mostly you should have luck doing this because it was advertised that way and CC tries to honor everything.

It didn't work. Damn. Try Tools-Internet options-Temp. Internet Files-Settings-View Files. I looked at my CC folder and none of the webpages saved. Stupid me. I guess you need to save them as archive or something.

I actually printed the rebates out when I baught the drive online.....I doubt they'll honor it, however, on the rebate, i am going to write that Brad ID# 1220 said that a copy of the rebate would be accpted for the $60, but I really doubt i'll get the $60.

I would try going in to the store if I were you.... I've had good luck in the past with CC managers. Always, YMMV. -TAL

If you visited a web page and you wish to view the same page without reloading it:

To access temp copies of most recently visited pages in Internet Explorer:
Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet Options > Settings? button (in the middle of the window) >
Check for newer versions of stored pages:
SELECT: Never.

After you're done, don't forget to
SELECT: Automatically
again.

Netscape:

Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Cache >
SELECT: Never

After you're done, don't forget to
SELECT: When the page is out of date
again.

Yes. I read *and* think. When I read "sneaky, they are. indeed" I think it's possible they're doing that... I've seen it before on AT. I wasn't asserting that he was, but if so, that is was fraud.

BostonYuk,
If you reread my post on Page 2 about Brad (pid#1220) you'll see I wrote they WON'T accept the $60. I've ordered both the CC and OM drives and figured out a this-that-and-the-other-thing way to get one of them from FREE. I'll return the other when I'm done with them.

When I pickup my drive from a local CC today after work, I'm showing him their website pages, they emails, etc and gonna try to get him to price-reduce this drive.

Talking about fraud...I think that CC changing the rebate dates and denying the rebate should be considered fraud at least for those that bought the drives based on the price after the rebates listed on the web page.

Actually my print out of their website at about 10a MST reads" Was $179.99, Now $159.99, Save $20.00. Price is before $10 Mail in rebate, Price is before $80 Mail in rebate, Price is before $60 Mail in rebate."

Doesn't say what the FINAL price will be.
