Circuit City - WD 120GB for $10 AR ?!

A bump to hear more people cry about only getting 1 or maybe some more whining about not pricematching to make the deal too sweet.

lol, im telling myself the same thing. but then i remember i suck at mailing in rebates and kno i will never see that $140 because ill keep making excuses to wait till the last day and then eventually never send it.

They don't send it ..I'm going to Circuit City and making them honor it. :evil:
 
called the 888-213-9761 number and spoke to Perry (PID#1915). Since the $60 and $80 are both manufacturer rebates he said that they'll probably want the UPC to process. Perry said that this "ISSUE" is going through their corporate office right now and he didn't have any info on whether buyers would get both rebates. The $10 rebate is good as they'll take photocopies.

Just an FYI -

A friend bought one of these drives from circuit city a few days ago (he is gonna try to return and get the rebates) and although they are labled as 2mb cache - they came with a paper insert that said the packaging is wrong and they are 8mb...now I am not saying they all are - but there is a chance so keep your fingers crossed! I have mine waiting for my at my local CC after work!

Called the WD number I posted above which routes right back to Young America. Earlier the Young America reps were saying they'd take the photocopy. JUst spoke to Brad (PID#1220) and now they're saying NO.

You can only process 1 of the rebates..either $60 or $80 but not both. Yeah you get the $10 from CC but not all three

 
So under "Pick up at these stores", it shows a red X which means direct Ship, so that means no in store pick up at those stores? Don't usually order from CC.

I just spoke with Gerald at that number (WD Rebate Center). The $80 rebate runs 04/24/03 - 04/26/03. The $60 rebate runs 04/01/03 and 04/30/03. He said, the current word is, until 4/26, they will only accept the $80 rebate.

Not a bad deal, but not a $10 120 GB drive. 🙁
 
OMG dude... i ordered my hdd like 20 mins ago... and i found a few stores that has the product... now i search like all the stores around southern california and they are all out of stock... you guys must be crazy buying this hdd

hehe got mine 120gb 🙂 for a whooping $23.19 after rebate including tax

How can they change their minds like that? That's why I got in on this deal, now they change their tune?
 
But I just printed off the 3 rebates and the date range is right there in black and white. So you could maybe argue if your rebate is denied. Too bad you couldn't get the statement from the Young America place in writing.

Well then you would see that they state they need "The original UPC barcodes from the product packaging."
 
Accoring to someone at FW, the 60 dollar MIR was supposed to be for next week. So, even if they tell you today that you will only get two rebates back, you can come in next week and get a price adjustment for the other 60 bucks.

Oh yeah, forgot about that. So that's an easy out for the rebate center. Maybe in a few weeks when this blows over, you could go to CC and maybe get $60 or $80 cash back, ppl have had luck with that before.
 
Anyone actually get the drive yet to see if they are the 8mb cache ones? I am crossing my fingers - even at $70 this is a sweet deal.

How does that work?? I'm trying to decide if I should go pick up the drive I ordered or return it... Sure, it's a great deal with only 2 of the 3 rebates, but not the deal I was hoping for. 🙂
