I bought a camera over the phone last month that had no interest until 2007, well a week later the same camera had a special for no interest until 2008. I call and complain and they said they would adjust it until 2008. I get my latest statement and they didn't do it. I call and complain and basically get told tough ******. I will never buy anything from CC again.

why should they extend the deal for you? when you bought it, it was until 2007, and you agreed to the terms and conditions of the sales.

My return period is over 4 days ago. They shouldn't, I called and asked and they offered to extend it.

well then why the hell would they adjust it for you? they will adjust it for you if it's within the return period. other than that they won't, and they shouldn't.

The answer here is simple: don't buy what you cannot afford to pay on the spot. With few exceptions, such as a house, it's stupid to buy anything if you don't have the money right away.

i bought my TV for $3K after service plans and no interest for 18 months. i just put $200/mo towards it. i knew I could afford it. it worked out fine. what's wrong with that?

Ask to talk to higher-up authorities. If you go high enough and b!tch hard enough, they will change it for you.

I think it's okay for some people to do that. I personally save $200 a month and then buy what I want but that's just because I like the peace of mind of having no debt in case something bad happens. There's nothing right or wrong about either way as long as you are responsible about it.

Well this was on top of saving $1K/month, so I wasn't worried about that.

That's how stupid people end up with a load of debt. Not everyone.

Oh, and Circuit City sucks. I also will not shop there, unless it's a crazy deal where it's really worth the hassle.

OK, Circuit City can't extend the offer. They are not the bank that issued you the Curcuit City credit card, it is most likely Household or HSBC. In other words, the guy on the phone said whatever he could to get you OFF the phone.
