"I just visited the circuit city in Union Square NY and noticed to my surprise that the Canon A75 which I have been drooling over was listed on the shelf at $149. I thought that was a mistake, but the girl confirmed that is the price right now (sale?) Anyway, not in stock at this location, but they called another location and they had some. The phone clerk was surprised at the price drop of $100 off regular price. I'd say this is a pretty good deal and no rebates to wait for. Sent my wife to pick one up, hopefully should be in on this in a little while.

Pretty good reviews on this from what I hear. Takes compact flash and 4 AA batteries.

i guess there is a difference between A75 and powershot A75

Remember, this is B&M only. Online price still shows 249.99. If your local store is oos, they can special order one from the warehouse for 149.99.
 
I called and talked to a CC rep. They are all out in the milwaukee area but will let you place an order and then wait for one to come in for $150.

My rossman detector is going crazy. Hell be all over this like a shark on chum shortly 😀

This is now available online as well. You're right, they didn't have any in Milwaukee but I was able to order one for instore pick-up from the Racine location.
 
how is it possible that between last night when my local store closed and this morning that their "in stock" status has changed on these? Now the nearest one is freakin 3 hours away... I drove that distance for z680's but I'm gunna do this over a lunch break.... grrr
 
It says that this camera is not available for online purchases..Can this be ordered over the phone and delivered??
 
I have a A70. Is this one a significant improvement on A70 ?
I scored off a target deal which was for $185.
Are they pretty much the same or is this pretty hot for this price ?
 
my circut city was retarded about it... clearly their last one has been pulled by an employee during the overnight... they even offered to sell me one in delaware that wasn't listed as being in stock on the website... CC's computers said there were 4 on hold there, 1 floor and 1 for sale. Just before they charged me, they called for visual... what do you know, they cant find it :|

CC is almost as worthless as the people who bought 3, 2 to sell on ebay. :|

I went to get the $5 Cobra FRS radio set at CC a couple weeks ago and a friend who had just been in the store not too long before me said there were 4 sets on the shelf, but none were there when I got there. I asked an employee who also said they were there earlier and looked in the computer and actually told me it showed 4 in stock, maybe not knowing their "hide hot items for employees and friends" policy that many stores (CC, BB, OM, OD) seem to have. So he went up to the front and asked someone (a mgr?) about them, who magically pulled a couple out from under the front CS/register desk.

No. The A75 has a larger LCD and few more features but nothing significant. However, one option to consider is how old is your A70. My thinking is that a good used A70 should bring $130-$150 on ebay. Thus, pick up a new A75 with complete warranty and sell the used.

I think I've just been owned by the system.... I'd have raised hell, but... again... it was my lunch break... nearest CC that has these in stock is an hour away... but its a BRUTAL drive on one of the worst wannabe-freeways around and even in the Mustang... too much stress than I can deal with right now...

So whats the deal you guys think? think we'll be able to start getting a hold of these hot cameras cheaper now?

My A70 is pretty new. Just got it 3 months ago. I haven't even used it that much. I am a noobie so I was just wondering if there was a whole lot improvement. If its just the screen I am fine with my A70. I was just thinking of getting my brother one. But since both of them are same I'll pass and upgrade to a different modle later.
 
Don't bother stopping by CC. All CC managers and camera attendants have been notified of this "price mistake" and won't sell it for the $150 price. It shows up as $250 in their system now.

edit: Actually YMMV for this. Both of the CC's I stopped by already knew about the price mistake before I said anything however other people still report the camera ringing up at $150.
 
ok, then im going to staples now before I loose the ability to use a CC number as a price match refrence. Thanks drewstylz
