Title says it all

Circuit City

OOS now.

By the way, yes everybody who has ordered these has gotten PC2100 & hynix chips. I have not tried overclocking mine, but they are working great on my MSI nforce (2 of these).

I got mine by checking every time I walked by my computer...eventually caught them while they were in when I checked here about 30 seconds after somebody posted a note saying they were in stock.

Is there any reason this is priced significantly lower than Crucial DDR memory? I mean, this isn't after a rebate or anything: $39.99 is the selling price. I'd assume a good name like Crucial would be more trustworthy, but at this price...

My best guess would be the chips on these ddr modules were bought while the price was still low. Instead of jacking up the prices they are being sold at price that reflects this.

Yeah out of stock, and you can be sure when they get them back the price will be about $69.99 or higher! It doesn't matter since I bought about 3 GB of PC2100 from Crucial back in Oct. when 128 MB of PC2100 was $16, including free shipping!

Damn...out of stock...i need more ram!

Any idea if ram is gonna get cheap again?

Or should i just bite the bullet and pay current prices?

<< Can you say "PC1600"?

i.e. ...not that hot...

Can you say, "You are totally wrong"?

I just received the sticks that I ordered and I can guarantee that these are PC2100 (266) sticks. Why do you even bother posting when you really have no idea? Darn, crapping is bad enough (i.e. ... not that hot...) but factually incorrect crapping is really bad.

BTW, I am not the only one that has confirmed that these are PC2100 with Hynix chips on them. Go find a place where you can get PC2100 256MB DDR for 39.99 then you can say this is not that hot.

SC Racer, that's like asking what the stock market will be doing 6 months from now. Nobody knows, especially since it's a like a commodity and depends on factors like the economy, demand, fabs ( where their made ), earthquakes, etc. All I know is last Oct. they got really cheap and many people stepped up and bought them.

hey Tacoma99...you forgot one of the factors....lawsuits. I think hundai can be blamed for the recent rise in DDR prices.

Everyone relax, Circuit City gets these in for about an hour every single day.
Go read one of the other threads on this to see what times they been showing up at.

So, anyone have any experience with Centon DDR RAM? I don't need overclocking RAM, but I don't want the major-cheapo stuff, either. 😕

are these really pc2100?? i just got mine it says "...deliver up to two times the bandwidth compared to pc100 memory." 2x pc100 = ddr pc1600, no?

edit: it does have hynix chips on them, BUT, it does not have a pc2100 sticker on like the one on newegg, the lettering on the chips are also different. i really think these are pc1600 :frown:

there is no centon part number on the ram itself, just a sticker says 256mb ddr and "no warranty if removed". however i was able to match the hynix chip part number to their data sheet here.

edit: the hynix part number is HY5DU28822AT-H, in data sheet it's designated DDR266B, 133MHz @ CL2.5, or 125MHz @ CL2.

YES!
these hynix chips are indeed pc2100 and they actually beat the micron chips i was using.

.......................CL2..............CL2.5
hynix----------125MHz------133MHz
micron-------100MHz------133MHz

i'm so lucky 😀

no wonder y micron is trying buy hynix

I've run the Samsung 2100 chips at 150/cas2 so these should about equal it. I'll know this afternoon if they'll work in an ECS K7S5A and the Tyan Tiger 2460 dual board and post back here.
