In order to have the long distance apply to the free nights and weekends, you must have a plan $39.99 and up. Otherwise, there will be another fee.
CT requires a 24-month contract to be eligible for free nights and weekends.

Good plan but if you are in CA (northern) forget about it! The night time minutes start at 9PM now! And thats only if you can make a call. All you get from cingular here are dropped calls. A friend of mine that works at a Cingular store doesnt even recommend it up here in Northern CA. Not sure about everywhere else though. Just a heads up.😉

Where did you copy that from on the site? I can't seem to find any mention of the free Caller-ID...if you see it on the site please tell me, cuz they charge additional for it currently.

<< The drag is that you can't get free mobile to mobile with this plan. >>

For anyone in LA, there's actually free mobile-to-mobile on top of this olympic plan, and you get to choose among alomost all nokia handset, including 3390. yes, it's still $35/month. But I forgot which store it is, because I read the ad on the chinese paper two days ago. can anyone recall this deal or dig it up?

There seems to be some confusion. In the LA Area, there is free night and weekend minites. You can choose this option or in its place take the free mobile to mobile.

Cingular works pretty well for me, I love the unlim nights and weekends as a student because thats why I do all my calling anyway. When I got the plan it was 8pm-7am, I am wondering if I'm grandfathered in or it now starts at 9... I guess we'll see when the next bill comes, last one I used 250 peak minutes, and over 1000 free nights and weekends 😀. Best digital coverage areas in the NC-SC-GA. 5190 for $10 wasn't a bad deal either... cheers!

Hi every1,

I'm a Cingular dealer here in Fullerton, CA (SoCAL).

Here is how the promotion work, you donate $20 to Special Olympics (100% tax deductible) and you get:

2) You get 350 anytime minutes for only $35/month + FREE long distance
3) Unlimited nights & weekends
4) 5 FREE movie rentals from Block Busters

THIS IS A GREAT DEAL!!!

Mobile 2 Mobile is no longer FREE ...it is now $9.99/month.

I like the $39.99 plan better - free long distance.

hey base10, when are you guys getting the new siemens phones? I'm getting sick of my 8890s, and i want to try something new...how much are they gonna be? quantity discount? what if i extend my contracts for another year? thanks.

Not sure why u like the 39.99 plan better. You pay more for fewer minutes(only 300min).
And the olympic promotion also has free Long distance.

Let me settle this for all of you that's interested in this plan.
for $35 a month you will get unlimited nights and weekends, 350 anytime minutes and long distance at no additional charge. The catch is to donate $20 to special olympics. It's based on a one year agreement.
From my experience if you're looking for a phone for business usage, then stay away from Cingular. Once off peak comes around you're not going to be able to recieve or make calls.

I agree with the poster that said Cingular stinks in NorCal. I have a ton of friends who went with PacBell/Cingular when they came up here to Berkeley, and boy, that is the crappiest service around. I'll stick with my AT&T (originally Cellular One) and pay an extra $5. I get 450 minutes peak for a year, 1000 night and weekend minutes, and free long distance. I also get free roaming in California, Nevada, Arizona, and Hawaii.

Not bad at all, and top it off with the best quality service in the Bay Area. (Yes, Bay Area - I don't know how the service for AT&T is around the rest of the US, but for the Bay Area it is the best, hands-down.)

Does Cingular SUCK in the Bay Area??? Around Japan Town area... cuz im gonna be moving there and I have CIngular... Im so used to SYSTEM BUSY... but I got my 3390 for 20 bucks w/ free NOKIA case so im happy. I didnt want to pay more for any other phones. My concern is that does CIngular suck in the bay area.... I know they suck generally.. but man.. it's free after 8pm according my contract...

Base10: Would you have to actually come into the store to purchase a phone from you with that discount?

The Cingular FAQ says that the Night & Weekend Hours are from 10PM to 7 AM

Base10 Turn on PM or PM me!!! I want a 3390... Cingular's good in SD. I have an old (but better than new) plan. Long distance, nights, weekends, mobile to mobile free. 500 anytime. 50/month. Unlimited text messeging. Nights start at 8... Base10 Turn on PM and PM me!!! I want a 3390

I have Cingular here in NJ (I use it primarily in Middlesex County and Essex County) ... And the service is awful here in Middlesex county. In Northern Jersey AT&T picks up the service at no additional charge and its much better. I do have problems placing calls in both areas though. I'm moving to Virginia in a month though, does anyone know what Cingular service is like in VA (Washington DC area)? And does the free long distance mean that during nights and weekends I can call anywhere in the US for free? Or is that only for my "anytime" minutes that I have free long distance?

<< I like the $39.99 plan better - free long distance. >>

You get FREE long distance w/$35 promotion plan as well. It's a better deal for $35 u get 350 minutes.

<< hey base10, when are you guys getting the new siemens phones? >>

Don't have any idea....we haven't been able to get our hands on them yet.

<< Base10: Would you have to actually come into the store to purchase a phone from you with that discount? >>

No u don't...all I would need is a copy of your driver's license. I can only offer u this discount if you're in Southern California.

<< The Cingular FAQ says that the Night & Weekend Hours are from 10PM to 7 AM >>

Where did u c that? Nights are from 9m thru 6:59am .. weekends are from 12AM sat -11:59pm sunday

Cingular sucks everywhere, especially in So. Cal. Everyone that I know complains about Cingular and says he/she uses it only because everyone else uses it (for purpose of mobile-to-mobile). Ugh, if nights start at 9pm, I'm going to seriously consider switching.
