Cingular in NYC - Anyone here ?

Anyone here uses cingular in NYC, Queens/Brooklyn and Manhattan area ? i really need to switch my service but i hate the general 2 year crap they give... I dont want to get stuck with something for 2 years if it won't work. Does it work well in NYC in general.. ie do you at least get a signal and you can walk half a block to get better signal or ur screw for like 10 blocks ? thanks
