cigars

I just had a very satisfying Patron, but I have a question: anyone know of a good cigar that doesnt take 45 minutes to an hour to smoke? I dont smoke cigars often (less than 10 per year), and one of the issues I have with them is that it takes a good hour to smoke one all the way. Anyone have recommendations for a shorter, yet good, cigar? I usually smoke Fuente Gran Reservas, which are IMO a good price/performance cigar. I generally like the larger ring sizes for the easier draw, but I'm open to going smaller.

Oh, and recommendations for cigars of any size will be accepted. I'm looking for cigars that are $15 or less.

I've tried to find the same thing but had a hard time doing so, all the smaller ones I try seem to be alot harsher than I like.

well, the longer they are, the more they have to travel through the cigar, which cools the smoke down a little. Thus, when a long cigar is almost gone, the smoke tastes/feels a lot harsher, because its hotter.

The short ones are great, my box just ran out, time to make a trip to Canada or get my buddy from Germany to get more 😀.

Hmmm... would you mind shipping 2 or 3 my way? I'd pay, obviously

hey, his profile says Ohio, mine says Cleveland, OH... I figured he lived in the Cleveland area and meant Detroit Ave, not the city.

Yikes. Do those even contain tobacco?
I recently bought some Macanudo special reserve. Not too expensive ($20 for a box of 5). Great for a short smoke.

I'm still sticking to pipes, though.

Macanudo's are great too!
I meant Detroit MI, but i see what he is saying, the few times i have been up there (Cleveland) Michigan is a main artery....

Patron?? Do you mean Padron? If so, you've found my favorite smoke. If not, try em! Best value/quality cigar I've found. They have an upscale line called the Anniversary Series. They are made from select tobacco, are boxed pressed, and are absolutely incredible. Hard to find, but well worth the $12-$15. The regular Padron's are priced around $4-$7 and are really excellent.

Off the top of my head, the shortest, best cigar I can think of is a Fuente Short Story...about a 5 minute smoke. Or check out Fuente Hemmingway's for about a large ring gague, very short, 10 minute smoke. Both of these cigars are decent, but not super easy to find. IMO, very small cigars will never be as tasty as their larger counterparts. For a short smoke, I'd recommend a pipe instead.

Yeah, I guess I misspelled it. It was an 1964 Anniversary, ~$13 (21st B-day gift). It took me a while to get around to smoking it.

And they come in a cool box (I collect cigar boxes)!

Be forewarned, pipes have long smokes, too, but you can set them down halfway through without much risk of it going nasty on you.

Nice cigar! Did you have it stored in a humidifier before smoking it?

I had it in a large, sealed plastic bag, with a smaller plastic bag (with holes in the side) containing a damp sponge inside the bag.

Its a half-@ssed way to slow out the inevitable drying out that occurs when you do not have a humidor.

EDIT: I've been thinking about getting a humidor, but for the amount of cigars I smoke in a year it just doesnt seem worth it
