and I'm betting that you will whine when your lard ass gets sick from diabetes, heart disease when you're 65 also. ASurely you are of perfect health now and will never get sick since you doing nothing wrong or doing anything that may harm your pristine body.

Yeah right... When it comes to your death you will miost likely not want to go also. Oh that is right you think you will live forever. Unlike us smokers we know we will die one day.

You will die just like all the three pack a day smokers, so let's keep this in perspective.

Do you have a point other than a groundless personal attack?

We all die, but some of us carry activities to excess and expect no adverse effects. I don't expect to live forever, and I realize that life is painful. I've been through sh!t since the day I was born, but I don't hold other people responsible for my problems or my actions.

Then they whine after they get cancer when they're 65. Dumbasses.[/quote]

Groundless??? You are the one attacking smokers saying they are dumbasses people who will whine about having cancer. I just want to set the record straight that we all have our vices ... even you.

You say you will not hold other responsible for your problems or actions. Yet since the odds are since you are 15,000 posts that you are overweight. Then you will hold the american tazpayer responsible for your medical bills when you are on medicare for since you choose an unhealthy lifestyle then this lifestyle choice of your will paid for by people other than you. Just like these nasty smokers

Well, you made a sweeping generality about smokers, what did you expect?

Mmm, you have a point.

I certainly didn't mean to categorize all smokers, as I am one. However, given my family background and my own health level I am under no illusions about the dangers of smoking. I purposefully limit the exposure I allow myself to cigarettes. If I start smoking a pack a day, I'll realize that thirty years down the road I'll run the risk of having health issues.

Is that sarcasm?

I have the following cartons, and I just grab a pack when my current pack runs out:

2x Dunhill Filtered
1x Dunhill lights (not for me, i prefer full flavor fags)
1x Lucky Strike filtered
1x Pall Mall regulars filtered
1x Monte Carlo (7$ a carton... but not very good cigarettes).

Edit: I also have a few random packs here and there... Camel Unfiltered, Kamel Red Lights (my girlfriend's), Dunhill Milds.

If I buy from a store, it is usually Camel Regulars or Pall Mall, whichever the store has as cheaper. I find these to taste nearly the same.

I smoke about 5-7 Cigarettes a day. Used to be more, but my roommates forced me to smoke outside (I was originally, just got lazy), and since it is hot as hell outside, going outside sucks.

and you have lived long enough to have such a postcount???

Sean Penn averages about 4 packs a day or so. He is 45+ and just won an oscar. On top of that he does many physically requiring movies.

If you start with one cigarrete, how likely is it that you will continue? Can you be a once in a while smoker?

I always wanted to try one, looks so relaxing after a very long stressful time on a cold day. :p

Yeah yeah, I'm dumb whatever... So what do you smokers say? Just absolutely don't start at all?

For the longest time I would smoke maybe a pack a month. It wasn't addictive, it wasn't hard to say no. I probably spent 2 years like that. And I quit on and off during that time.

I only became pretty serioues about it when college got stressful and hard, and I needed a relaxant, and I already knew cigarettes did, so I just started doing them in further quantity.

Thankfully all the Cocaine he does gives him the energy to pull it off.

...

i think you just have to be strong and smart.
like i smoke every so often (djarum black- my cancer stick of choice) and i know that i will get addicted if i start smoking lots.. i smoke maybe 1-4 a week..

if you feel like u NEED it then u better not smoke anymore..unless you want to have something that you need and is there for you ;)

and why not try it...you WONT get addicted by trying one.. but you might like it.. and start smoking more of it...

I'd say don't start, because you're already making excuses for yourself to start. Once the addiction kicks in those excuses become much more rational inside your own head, and then you figure its okay to smoke all of the time.

I'm a smoker and this is how it happened for me.

Was smoking SkyDancers ($12.99 a carton) until last Feb 19. Stopped when told that I have a form of Heart Disease.

Funny how fear of death makes quitting smoking so much easier.

i think/believe that smoking a couple of ciggs a day will not harm the body that much to where it will grow cancer/disease without some other influences.
