Cigarette smell from the past

paint it as suggested. Smoke is hard to get rid of if the person really smoked a lot. I moved into an apartment where the previous person smoked. Even though it was re-painted and had new floors I could still smell it. Turned out to be two places, the air ducts, which I had to vacuum out and cover with charcoal filters on the registers , and the ceiling fan had not been cleaned good so every time it was used it spread that smell.

What is killz primer and what does it do?

it traps the smokiness underneath it so it won't smell anymore.
