I have worked in the Middle East for quite sometime off and on. I can tell you without a doubt if some of these guys were not looney tunes we would have no intel on what is going on!

Well I've met a few in Thailand. They seem nice, but every time they talk it's about some kind of conspiracy story.

Back to the article. I've never heard of this guy before, and this is the first time I've been to the website. Most people are wrong when they try to predict the future.

Peter Schiff predicted the housing market collapse a few years ago. That's about the only person I can think of that has actually gotten it right.

he will be wrong just like all the other loons; we very well could have depression like effects in the near future due to government spending and reliance of the economy on it. pinning an exact date typically is risky propositions as no human can predict the market

Well, you can always burn his books for heat once the 25 year depression kicks in so there's that. Too bad the books aren't edible, come in delicious flavors, and store unopened for 25 years though. Then I'd be all over that deal in a heart beat.

Dave I hate to say it but I agree.

There are hundreds of websites around similar to the one you linked. They are shilling their books/programs. Just sign up for one (or subscribe to the Wall Street Journal-they love to purchase that mailing list) and see how inundated with this sort of crap you become.
 
With all the Intel, machines, telescopes, radar, satelites and such, we can't even predict the weather correctly for tomorrow.
 
THe only sane thing is stocking up on emergency food.
