Apologies, couldn't find the original thread on this...

In a move that will likely piss off some of the more vocal Islamic apologists and Pakistani sympathizers here on ATPN, Raymond Davis has been released and is no longer in Pakistan:

http://www.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/asiapcf/03/16/pakistan.cia.charges/index.html?hpt=T2

Davis appeared in court after the payment was made and was acquitted of the charges, in accordance with an Islamic practice known as diyat, or compensation, the lawyer said.

"Diyat," a part of Islamic law that is enshrined in Pakistan's penal code, allows victims to pardon a murderer with or without being paid "blood money," the former chief justice of Pakistan's Supreme Court, Saeed U Zaman Saddiqi, told CNN.

It is of course possible that since this was apparently done in accordance with Islamic Law in Pakistan, that these same Islamic apologists here will have their heads explode from the effects of cognitive dissonance.

Putting this guy aside, what justice has the person killed by the two Americans who drove illegally and recklessly, the wrong way on one-way streets, had?

What has been done to ensure that never happens again?

What have the American people been given to assure their government has take actions against these people, to fix the rules?
