He's Black so falls under the category of Blackish. It's semantics. White people are actually Pinks but they'd still fall under Whites.

well, pinkish already has a meaning. so it's fair.

i agree with the other sentiments though. there's nothing about this that says it's about race, just that he's over the # of required colors.

and the city council or whoever passes these building codes stipulating allowable # of colors really needs to take the stick out of their collective asses.

Brandon is the latter not the former 😛. Although, I don't think I've ever seen him do any crazy jumping to conclusions or ranting worthy of P&N or even DailyTech :sneaky:.

What was that sig that someone used to have? "NFS4 you're the whitest black guy I've ever known" or something along those lines.

I love it, the first thing a black person does in a situation like this is to start claiming racism... “Once I put my black face on the side of this (sign), the Town, it became a problem,” Williams said The problem is a city ordinance about signs you moron. Funny though, if he were in Africa and tried to fight an ordinance, they would just cut his arm off...once they were all kings there...every man, a king.....

He should tell them to fuck off, then file a lawsuit for harassment. His sign contains 3 colors: Red, Green, and Blue. How he uses those 3 colors to make his image is his own business.

To prove his point, he should hire an artist, and give them 3 cans of paint: One red, one green, and one blue. Then have the artist re-create his sign using mixes of just those 3 colors.

Short timing here on the forum?

Yeah, we should all just shut up about our "problems" and be glad we're not living in Africa 🙄

Also, obligatory: WWYBYWB?

Williams says he plans to contact the American Civil Liberties Union and the NAACP.
The ordinances are stupid and it certainly sounds like the people running that town are uptight to the extreme, but calling the NAACP and ACLU? 🙄🙄

You know this because you live there?

I lived in Raleigh for 11 years which is right next to Cary, and I currently in Garner, which is about 15 minutes away.

Everyone loves to make fun of Cary because it's seen a a haven for rich folk from up North. Around here, CARY is an acronym for Containment Area for Relocated Yankees.

Cary's reputation as a bedroom community for affluent transplants from outside the South has led to humorous backronyms for its name such as "Containment Area for Relocated Yankees."[12] Data from the 2000 Census shows 29.2% of Cary residents are native to North Carolina. 55.2% were born in other states. Additionally, 15.6% of the town's population were born outside the United States.

I drive thru Cary every day on my way to work. I could best describe the surroundings as 'neutral', meaning there aren't, for the most part, any bright/loud colors. The officials there seem to run the city like a big-brother type HOA.

No thank you

LOLWTF:

http://www.wral.com/news/local/story/6743370/

In recent years, Grannan said, officials have relaxed the ordinance to allow more colors, size variations and information on signs. This included allowing businesses to put 12 pieces of information on a sign – instead of the previous eight pieces.

"We actually had one medical group that actually had to shorten their name in order to put their name on the building," said commercial developer Tom Huff, of Capital Associates.

I think it is obvious the people running the city are amazingly dedicated to their sign regulations and are not treating him any differently than the other residents. Racism not found, just an amazingly overbearing local government.

Edit: I cannot imagine living in a city where the phrase "amazingly dedicated to their sign regulations" is accurate. Kinda scary.
