Sure, just like Trump's mexican rapists/ muslim terrorists slogans are just about immigration. Conservatives are so terrible at lying for how often they do it.

What does your inability to follow a simple conversation have to do with the President's "slogans?" Have you been drinking?

It makes no difference until Taxes go to "gender reassignment surgery".

It makes no difference until I do not "pretend" with them and get verbally attacked for calling someone "he" when they want to be called "her" or "she", or some other such nonsense. I say what I want.

From my perspective, these people need real help. Mutilating their sexual organs or adding visual glands where none exist is not helping them, I believe it is harming them.

Here is how I see your story as flawed:

I have a Napoleonesque friend. He MC'd karaoke where I used to go to sing and always said he was Napoleon and a big truck driver. He was a pretty unhappy guy back then. Often grumpy and spiteful and dark. It was difficult to like him but I did. Instead of getting mental help, he found a doctor that removed 4 inches from his legs and fixed his nose to look like Napoleon and got him a Napoleon style outfit and hat to wear. Napoleon is now an MC for karaoke, still a big truck driver and happy. Napoleon has peace in his heart and enjoys his life now. To Napoleon, that's worth everything. And it is much easier to enjoy Napoleon and like him. From my perspective, seeing Napoleon as he is today makes my heart feel good for Napoleon and I.

Ok, we understand one another. You're ugly in your heart and proud of it.

My friend appears (because she is) mentally healthy now. The appearance of mental health/peace is definitely a step up from obviously damaging lack of it. Even if making these physical changes is just an extremely effective placebo affect isn't that the "help" you say they need?

Hey, I ended with a question but I don't require a reply unless I've completely changed your mind. And if I have I require praise.

Pretending you're too dumb to understand anything only works with the more naive liberals.

"Substanceless, rhetorical accusation, strong work. I am certain anyone on the fence on the issue was persuaded by the vitriol spewing."

I've discovered with the ushering in of the Trump Era that Dumb is dedicated to staying Dumb with a degree of loyalty personal relationships can't even compete with. Trumpublicans teach this daily.

Females: XX

Males: XY

Anything else is considered a genetic defect.

Self-mutilation cannot change this nor can mental constructs. Just because you believe you are a monkey and mutilate yourself to look like one does not make it so.

You can pretend you are a female, you can pretend you are a male. You can (now) legally be a male or female, but the genetics of the situation are what they are.

If you're a gay male, cool. If you're a gay female, cool. If you like every adult under the sun, that's cool too. I seriously do not care in the least bit, just don't make me pay for it through my taxes.

Do with these facts and opinions what you will.

So, Jamie Lee Curtis who has the XY chromosome is, according to your "facts", a male?

Are you sure that you are qualified to make these determinations?

Are you seriously using a Hollywood rumor (of all things) to counter basic genetic science??

Where in the hell did you go to school?

That's not science, that's etymology. "Gender" itself is more related to words like "genre" (i.e., category or type) than anything.

Besides which, there are four or five axes (plural of axis, not, like, a bunch of wood-choppers) to consider here: someone's genotype, their hormonal cohort, their brain structure, their genitalia, and their social milieu.

Gender identity is weird in that it's partly external and partly social. In some societies I'd be considered third-gender for being a lesbian, as they would think of this as "woman with a man's desires." US society calls me cisgender and gay. Some other societies yet would label me as having both genders.

In none of those cases do my chromosomes, phenotype, sexual orientation, or hormone levels differ. All that changed is society's perception and categorization of me.

Does this help any? Hell, are you even going to read it?

You can forget Jamie if you don't believe she is one of the hundreds of women who are phenotypically women but genetically male.

"Basic genetic science" does take CAIS (Complete Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome) into account (since it affects 46,XY it's genetic) but since you don't understand basic genetics you wouldn't know that.

Last course I took was at Oxford University, the course was "MSc by Research in Pysiology, Anatomy and Genetics".

I didn't say I believed or did not believe anything, I said: "Are you seriously using a Hollywood rumor (of all things) to counter basic genetic science??"

By your response and cover-up, I'll take the answer as yes. I swear, you're as bad as Donald Trump, if not worse.

Eventually, you got your basic genetic science from Wikipedia, which was more intelligent than Hollywood rumors.

Meaning that "yes, EdCoolio is 100% accurate and correct when he clearly stated that: "Anything else is considered a genetic defect."" Your welcome.

Frankly, your extensive background in TMZ and AccessHollywood does not impress.

Who the hell cares if Jamie really does have CAIS, it's completely irrelevant to the topic at hand which you desperately want to escape from.

If you are done with the deflecting and personal attacks and want to discuss your assertion that everyone who has the XY chromosome is a male that would be great but if not I'm going to ignore you.

It should be noted that not all women with CAIS have a mutation on the AR gene so no, it's not a genetic defect in all cases.

"It should be noted that not all women with CAIS have a mutation on the AR gene so no, it's not a genetic defect in all cases."

By definition, it is either a genetic defect (as you pointed out) on the AR gene, a genetic defect of unknown location/origin, or a genetic mutation of unknown location/origin. It is not the normal state for the human organism.

Regardless, it is a genetic defect or mutation and it is thankfully rare, but does exist. Of course, all of this has nothing to do with a transgender individual or my original point, but here we are.

As an aside:

I agree, it was irrelevant for you to mention a Hollywood rumor as an example or proof of ANYTHING (other than how moronic Hollywood rumors are).

Therefore, I was obviously at a loss to understand why you brought it up in the first place. You ask, "Who the hell cares..."?? Well, you do, because you brought it up, so stop deflecting.

If you don't want to talk about something, don't bring it up.

While I'll concede that they can motivate weak-minded people, none of them are good things when applied to a religion

1) With the hope for mortality comes a disassociation with this world. Is it largely a good thing to mandate that people live in poverty, misery and willingly forego pleasures for supposed rewards that will never come? How is offering people immortality and 72 virgins working out for the world?

2) Blind hope for an almighty order that can't be seen, defined or explained is preferable to expecting and participating in an actual sensible real world order that can be explained, that is accountable to the people governed by it and is fair to everyone, even non-believers?

3) Hope for protection instead of actual protection? Which provides more protection, an alarm system or a prayer? What protects your health, a doctor or a priest? When your house is on fire do you turn to god or to the men in the red truck? And if you REALLY want protection, why on Earth would you turn to a god that hates you, thinks you're scum and wants to throw you in hell for eternal torment if you don't kiss his ass properly every day of your life? You need protection from what god might do to you more than you need protection from god for what other people might do to you.

4) Good idea!! Teach people that they can literally do ANYTHING and still get eternal reward just by saying you're sorry. No way that could possibly go wrong.

5) Religions "mechanism for community" is to welcome anyone that is willing to talk, act and think in the mandatory manner and to ostracize or even kill those who believe something else. That is the antithesis of community.

6) A mechanism for charity is simply wanting to be charitable. When you have organizations getting rich skimming donations while very very little help gets through to the truly needy (and then only to people who are deemed worthy by the charity itself, not by the donor, see point 5) that is much closer to a pyramid scheme than it is to charity. The Catholic Church didn't get that rich by being charitable, they got rich by convincing other people to be charitable and paying themselves huge commissions on the transactions.
I'm just saying what it is:
A way for people to live with their conscience and have hope for something better.
Most people have done things they regret and most people aren't living rock star lives. You take away religion and suicide rates go way up.
