Your mission should you choose to accept: post your fastest lap time on the Top Gear Test Track on Gran Turismo 5.

The requirements: Arcade Mode > Time Attack > Top Gear Test Track > Suzuki Swift Sport '07 > Manual> No drive line > Soft tires > Dashboard view.

You can have as many practice laps as you want, but you'll have to do a standing start. Stop the car before you cross the line, your time starts when you cross the starting line.

***New additions to the rules***
You have 24 hours prior to submitting your time. Once you submit your lap time, you cannot resubmit.

Post your best lap here. The bar is not high, my best time is below.

Oh, come on, you can do all sort of things with it besides playing game. But sometimes, that ONE game is worth it, it seems like GT5 is the only game I play on it anymore.

There are plenty other games that may tickle your fancies. Plenty others.

So, does this mean I can declare I'm faster than the Stig? :awe:
 
I want to get a classic PS3 (the old fat one), as long as it can play Blu-ray at 720p/1080i over the optional component video output. If it can't, I'll be sad, as I'm thinking of getting one for my extra TV, an old 57" XBR.

I think it can, but you have to run older firmware, and it seems like it might conflict with using playstation store, netflix, online gaming, that kinda thing.

I just want BluRay HD over component HD, I've heard that recent set-top firmware updates (which you need in order to continue to be able to watch new BD releases) have limited component hd output to 480p 🙁

I would hope that Sony wouldn't de-content the PS3 through updates, but with Sony you never know.
 
After a couple of laps practice, I turned in a 1.40.503. The last two corners are killing me though, I haven't figured them out yet.

At least I beat the Stig. 😀

Are you sure you're in the Suzuki? (The proper view would give you a steering wheel and Stig's gloves, basically a driver's view complete with A pillars and rear view mirrors and interior dashboard) And it wasn't a flying lap, right? You were supposed to stop at the line, then go.
 
Top gear test track is on GTR2 for those who don't wanna shell out for a PS3 😉
It's also more realistic and the sound is sooo nice. I just wish the graphics were prettier.
