Chrysler planning on making cars people actually want to buy.

more like the big 3 has been saying the same shit since 2000 and recently only started to pick up their asses because they will go bankrupt if they don't

Talk about liquidation sale. Say goodbye to resale value for any used Chrysler cars. Not Chrysler cars had any resale value to begin with. Viper excluded of course.
Chrysler already fvcked their resale in part by having no powertrain past 36k for a second owner. I actually was considering a 300. Not necessarily gonna buy one, but considering, but homey doesn't play that.

The problem with a new chrysler even with lifetime powertrain and 6k off is that it's entirely possible that they'll be immaterial in the near term.

funny I thought promotions are supposed to make the item more attractive.. I dont think this move will really change many minds

After owning a complete pile of shit dodge that has given me more problems in the past year than I could ever imagine possible, I will NOT buy american again.

Crappy build parts, and the worst part is they don't admit their engines have sludge issues. Chrysler can die for all I care

My Dodge car is perfect. I guess I just know how to do basic maintenance and not beat on a car.

Yeah well so do I.. maintained it perfectly for years and all it's done is blow apart by itself.. I'm sure my whole A/C unit blowing out, rod/main bearings being worn, thermostat, transmission control module, and a blower resistor all in the past year is not from me not taking care of my car.

Enough to make me never by american again.

Because they're all one company? Oh wait, they aren't. There isn't a survey out there that puts Ford or GM in the same boat as Chrysler when it comes to quality and reliability. Chrysler is consistently ranked at or near the bottom.

^ This.

In addition, things change. GM has improved drastically of late, one only needs to compare their current lineup to their 90's offerings, and it's night and day.

Ford has continued to improve as well.

EDIT : I personally had HORRENDOUS nightmares with Mitsubishi products. This doesn't mean that I automatically discount all Japanese automakers. As for Dodge, I owned a Neon, and it was undoubtedly the worst car I've ever had the misfortune of experiencing.

cutting the price on a pile of dog crap won't make it sell if it's still crap.

That is why they killed the Camaro, no? 😛😉

If they would have cut the price on the camaro, it would still sell. It was never meant to be a higher dollar car. It was supposed to be fast and cheap. 2002 model year SS camaros were stickered at over 40k, that is NOT a cheap car. Hell, when I started shopping for one, they were within $5k or so ov a base vette. Why would anyone pay that much for a camaro when a vette is that close in price is beyond my grasp.

for a turn-signal lever that feels like it was sourced from an early 80's sedan?

The only car that EVER stickered anywhere NEAR 40k on the Camaro line was the 35SS anniversary convertible and even then, it was about 35k, so just throwing out 40k is retarded. That's not why GM killed the Camaro..

Many dealers werre jacking up the price on the '02 model year cars since people were falling into the "collector car" bullshit. The 35th LE SS was not the only one topping 40K. Since many dealers were jacking the price, the used market copied the trend.

Might have to see if I can get a good deal on a leftover truck.

Well, if the federal government bails them out again and the million year powertrain warrenty continues to exist it might be a good deal.

How the hell is that warrenty suppose to work again? If some how dodge survives and 20 years from now I'm using my rusted out dakota to haul firewood out of the woods and pull boulders can I just keep replacing the transmission until I'm 6 feet under? Or did they sneak some great requirement in the fine print like "requires regular maintenance to include replacement of transmission every 30k miles at owner expense".

This would be a great time to buy a Jeep Wrangler if I really wanted one. My wife always has...but I really can't get past the plastic interiors in the Jeep products...feels like 70's grade tupperware...actually worse...

Not to mention weird, square shaped interior that may kill you in case of an accident - think "bumping your head or a knee at the edge of the table" type of a pain..
Fvucken stupid...
Die Crapsler die...
