as a 02 SLK230 driver, I would say get an 02 SLK32 AMG for around $35k, or an 03/04 230K or 320. Personally I would go with a 04 Special Edition 230K, which could be had for around $36k. You will get the balance of the 4year/50k mile warranty, but more importantly free maitenance for 3years/36k miles. The AMG would be nice, but paying maitenance and gas would suck. But 349hp in a SLK shoots the car to mid 4's to 60mph:)

i was actually looking at a new c230 coupe, but the crossfire looked much nicer to me overall! i'm not crazy about the back end of the 230 coupe. i prefer the look of the sedan and i much prefer the 17" wheels of the C320, thats way out of my budget though

i was thinking crossfire if my money situation is sorted out, when my lancer lease is up in just under 2 years.

sweet, i honestly thought the SRT-4 would rip it a new one..
you can make those cars much faster than they already are, very easily. (SRT-4 that is)

yup, i had the same reaction as you
so as you see.. the crossfire is not bad :p

well i've always loved it...
and for all the ppl saying the base model is underpowered. that's subjective.. fact is, it's a small car, still has 215 hp.
if the SRT-6 can do that good of job against a modded SRT-4, then the base model cannot be that slow just based on that video, but that's just my opinion.

either way, i like the crossfire, i think it's a sick car!

The srt-6 has 115 more hp then the base crossfire. Its not just a little difference. Its not a slow car but its not exactly fast either.

My brother has one and loves it. Since it is winter sometimes he just starts it up and sits in it in his garage (door open!). :p

There is next to no room in it, however. Our MINI is cavernous compared to it.

I'd have bought the SRT-6 instead of the SRT-4 if it came in a 6spd... SRT-6 is auto. only... :(

To me it looks good and is a nice small Lux car, but NOT a top of the line sports car. Reminds me of the Buick Reatta. Not the fastest but has more luxery then cars that are faster type.

I was not a huge fan of it when I saw it in pictures...but I must say when I saw it in person it looked sporty and fast. Don't get me wrong...I'd pick a host of cars over the Crossfire...but I did like it more than I thought.

If I was spending anywhere near that money on a open top car...I'd save up a bit more and buy a Boxster.

No one can deny its a great looking auto. Car is not underpowered. I consider a 525i or S320 underpowered. An Escape with a 130HP engine is underpowered.

a 215HP two seater is adequately powered and can be considered a sporty car. Maybe its not in the same league as a 350Z for power to weight ratio.

The last '04 Crossfires are now discounted $10K off MSRP.

2-months ago they were $8500 off then $9500 off and now $10K.

I think all '05 models are about $5K off currently so taking the price adjustment into affect and that Chrysler is sitting on a 9-month supply of these at the current sales rate than I think the Crossfire on looks and sportiness is a bargain.

That damn interior is absolutely gorgeous!
