i like it.. ive been getting mixed replies from people though. some love it, some hate it.

I like the fact that it's a roadster with huge 19" rear wheels, 18" front wheels, RWD/6SPD and all-Mercedes made including the 3.2L (I heard it's hand-crafted, is this true?) V6. The base model makes something like 215hp and 230tq for a 0-60 of 6.5 and top speed of 150mph. The SRT6 model makes 330hp I believe, and does 0-60 in just over 5 sec. Not sure of top speed.

Anyway, just the base model with leather and 6-speed is very nice! I sat in it and I got a pretty good vibe compared to alot of other cars. I liked the feeling sitting in it. I liked the thick heavy doors that close with a satisfying thud. I liked the frameless windows (like camaro). I liked the console setup and basically everything about the car, the overall stance.

How do you like this car? Good, bad, don't care? I will find some pics.

Its a slick looking car but somewhat underpowered. From the reviews the interior and ride could be better.

I love the look of the outside of the car but I don't think I'd ever fit in it seeing as how in 6'5"

Are you thinking of buying one? PM me if you are.

Nice GT car, but not a sports car...poor man's SLK...it's got an MB engine, transmission, old SLK chasis, built in Stuttgart. Reviews say the V6 is weak, suspension is soft, and steering feel is dead.

About the only cool thing about it is the exterior design. It's a sharp looking car.

Only MB's AMG engines are hand-crafted.

i was behind one in traffic today, it is a beautiful car with lots of nice details. I was particularly admiring the line of the front fender that carries back along the side of the car and becomes the top of the rear fender.

also, the coupe version looks great from the rear. Definitely looks like a show car.

RX-8 interesting car too, but i think that is more underpowered than the crossfire, no? I liked the RX-8 but I found for the price, considering it's a Mazda.. eeesh. I know I know, I'm talking about a Chrysler crossfire too .. but it is a mercedes, and if you buy a year-old Crossfire, it should be really cheap :D

"We also think the manual will help you hustle your Crossfire to 60 mph a little quicker than the automatic, although we?re not entirely sure about this, since the engine-control program won?t allow unloaded revving beyond 4000 rpm, which inhibits launches." ... awwwww :(

From the C&D link I posted above:

If you are moved by the styling of this little two-seat coupe, there is nothing in its operation that should dissuade you from purchasing it. I?m moved by the looks?more in person than in photos. This surprisingly small vehicle has the compact visual power of a .38 snub-nose revolver. Mercedes SLK mechanicals, even if they?re getting a bit old, are still not a bad bunch of bits. The engine is smooth and the suspension reasonably comfy, and the switchgear feels quality. The only things that would prevent me from buying it are the Nissan 350Z, the Infiniti G35 coupe, the Mazda RX-8, and a (used) BMW M coupe?all of which are more fun to drive.

I think the RX-8 could easily out-handle an Xfire.

it would definitely be an interesting race to see !! An RX8 is pretty tight though, it might have an edge. I like the crossfire though. in the past ive tended to lean towards cars like caprice, camaro, monte carlo, bonneville.. and i now drive a lancer, so to me the crossfire does seem pretty nimble anyway :p

i haven't actually test driven it yet though. i still have a couple years to go with my lancer, so i'm just looking ahead. i might pick up a used crossfire when im done with my lancer, if im still interested in it then.

i wonder if the 6SPD is durable enough to handle a supercharger (the SRT6 doesn't seem to come in manual?)

Actually the rx-8 and crossfire handle, stop, and accelerate pretty much equally. I like it but it is a little under powered.

The base crossfire got a 0.89 skidpad, isn't that pretty good? better than Audi TT, TL-S, and 350Z.
another thing I like about the crossfire is it has more torque than HP, I like that :D
plus if you have a look at the videos, you'll see that there is no noise or vibration even at high speeds. this is a plus too, the car is tight/stable.

i didn't know the rx8 accelerated that quickly, i always thought it was more underpowered than that
oddly enough, ive never actually seen an rx8 really pushing it hard.
