Ouch. I have to say I'm disappointed. Granted, with the new V6 engine, the improved interior, it does look better, and hopefully they put some work into the handling/feel, but I've got a bad feeling that its largely the same car underneath, and that has been the biggest issue. The looks were the second biggest, and I don't think they've done enough to remedy that, I mean they basically only took the lights and the grille, and reworked the lower fascia a bit.

And yes, we'll have to wait and see how the car actually turns out, but this isn't a good sign.

Whoops forgot the link: http://www.autoblog.com/2010/10/12/poll-chrysler-200/

Yeah, they did do a bit more than I let on, the hood is better, and the rear end has been reworked more, but still it needed more to break from the Sebring.

what else do you expect from an american company that should have gone BK?

it did go bankrupt

they also have the worst commercial of all time. george washington charging the british in a car with an old german chassis made by an italian company. it's like we lost to the fuhrer and il duce

Remember when they were owned by Daimler Benz? The commercial would say something about "an American tradition" but the ad stars their German CEO, Dieter Zetsche.

I think the most retarded car campaign of all time had to be Scion's stuff about how much of an individual you are. What a perfect way to show how much of an individual you are - buy a car from the largest car company in the world. (Scion is owned by Toyota).

The refreshed Charger looks great, they addressed all the problem areas of the previous car. The new, 6.4L V8 should be nice too.

Well I wouldn't say all the problems, but they've definitely improved it significantly. I like the look but don't quite love it. Chrysler could definitely use some help in tuning chassis though. I'm a bit worried that in the push for newer engines, updating the exteriors, and upgrading the interiors that they'll forget to put some extra work into the chassis to make sure it drives and handles better (their big cars weren't awful there, but they could be improved).

Because of that, I think they're going to have a problem with their big cars in the future, as Chrysler isn't great at developing platforms, and the Mercedes underpinnings are gonna get long in the tooth before they know it, and Fiat doesn't really have other models/brands that they can raid.

Yeah, the Scion commercial is a big WTF, especially when they use one of the boxiest and non-standout cars ever made. Its individual because you slapped decals all over it like a bunch of other people? Huh?

Don't forget that it is assembled in Canada...

... Sebring as a rental and it was one of the most underwhelming cars I've ever driven. Actually it may be the MOST underwhelming. Right up there with the PT Cruiser ...

Heh, I drove both of those as rentals while in Hawaii. I didn't mind them, but maybe the fact that I was in Hawaii had something to do with it 😉

and I agree, the 200 is a huge blah. Just a sebring with prettier headlights and taillights. The concept looked so much better - http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/11/detroit-2009-chrysler-200c-concept-what-the-sebring-should-hav/

LOL. Really?

That's just awesome. Have a commercial about fighting against the British in a Dodge, but the Dodge is built in a country that was at one time at war with the US and was mostly British soldiers and we burned down your white house. The irony is overwhelming.

You really don't think the boxy xB is unique? Really? How many boxes are there? The Nissan Cube is the only other one, and it came to America long long after the xB.

No I don't. It looks like a generic car from Asia or Europe. They might not be a dime a dozen in the US, but they're anything but unique in the car world.

So it's not unique because there are similar models sold in Japan, but not in the U.S.😕 You realize how stupid that sounds.

I hate the xB but I don't see how anybody can call it generic. The boxy shape and low sales volume pretty much ensures it being unique on the road. Unless you think they'd be better off buying a Corolla.

The Corolla is the best anti-theft car ever. It shows you clearly don't give a shit about your driving experience, so it probably has a stock stereo that isn't worth stealing.

I would have to say it definitely looks better.
The current gen cars like the Avenger were all terribly bad, so I will now have a reference point when/if I actually ever sit or drive in one of these new models.

The new powerplants are looking very promising if anything though. That is hard to deny.

Overall quality and finish on this car is going to be the biggest deal breaker, because I think it looks decent.

I put over 300,000 miles on my 2007 Sebring (the one with the cool hood) and still prefer it's look and driving feel 500% more than all the Hondas and Toyotas that I've test driven and compared over the last 6 years. It still looks brand new and is the most comfortable car to sit in and to drive. When I want to carry lots of things like musical instruments or my 6 kids, I drive my Chrysler Town and Country with stow and go seating and hydrolic doors that open with buttons on the key.The foreign SUVs and mini vans are a joke in comparison to the cargo room I have. If you drive a Toyota Rav4, I could probably fit it inside my Chrysler and bring your little Toyota home to use as a toy for my 4 year old son to play with. Don't be ashamed to drive American cars & be proud to own Chryslers and other brands that originated in our country.

In the future please don't resurrect old threads
