Ewww... you're either some 15-year old noob who's first RPG was FF7 (and therefore thinks it is the best game ever, like all of the other gamers of this generation), or you're an older gamer with simply horrible taste. I can't even fathom someone thinking that Chrono Cross is better than Chrono Trigger.

So does the PlayStation version have anything new over the SNES original version?

Yeah - about 873 more playable characters. Real intimate...

To Chrono Cross's credit, it does have a gorgeous soundtrack. I recommend that over the actual game.

That quote in bold is excellent.

Chrono Trigger was good, but not the best.

No seriously, does it have improved graphics, new music, added cutscenes, etc.?

I quit playing when I got stuck at a certain point. It was where you had three places you could time travel to, I didn't know where to go so I gave up.

LOL, you're lazy. I haven't played this game in years and I always know exactly what to do 🙂 The story's pretty linear (even though there's plenty of sidequests) so it's not too hard to figure out, unless you're dumb 😉

Final Fantasy III (US) definitely the best.
Chrono Trigger, Link to the Past, and Secret of Mana all tied for second place.

Definitely a work of art.

Anyone else notice that the Super Nintendo has some of the best games ever, for multiple genres?

Donkey Kong Country 1,2,3
Zelda
Final Fantasy
Mario RPG
Super Metroid
etc

Chrono Trigger was awesome for its story & character interaction. What other RPG has incorporated multiple character attacks so well?

Trigger was good... here are some which I thought were as good or better(console and PC both):

FF3(US)(#1 console RPG IMO)
Earthbound(#2 console RPG IMO)
Shining Force II(genesis,..maybe not better, but I liked it just as much)
Baldur's Gate II/Throne of Bhaal(best RPG ever, any platform IMO)
Icewind Dale / Icewind Dale II (plus Heart of Winter, Trials of Luremaster expansions)

super metroid was awesome indeed

Chrono Trigger was an awesome game... but I will always hold a special place for FFIV (FF2 in US). I got an SNES the first Xmas it was out, beat the hell out of Mario in a day, got Xmas money from the extended fam and went to Toys R Us and bought FF2. Put the cart in, and was in 16 bit RPG heaven. 😀

ROFLES, check out my new sig M4H 😉
Just out of curiosity, how many does that make it now, M4H?

If you count the fact that we both know that XGI blows dead goats for quarters as an agreement, that's three :Q
