I've been trying out the new game chronicles of riddick. Graphics are really nice, very much like doom, but lit up. It has a choice of several shader options. There is a special 2.0++ specificly only supported by the gf6 series, it looks great, but wow, its very hardware intensive. I had to cut back to 1280x1024 to run it, as it was choppy at 1600x1200. And I have a good system. (a64 at 2.5Ghz and 6800gt at 400/1000, 1gb ram) Anyone else playing this ?

quick update, just go into this some more. ownage :cool: graphics are incredible, this is really like doom 3 quality with lighting :cool: Definately a must play. This game I'm sure will be one of the new benchmark games to set by as its VERY system demanding, using the special 6-series only shader option 1280x1024 is playable, but 1600x1200 is not, this is the first game I've tried apart from HDR enabled farcry that will actually make some useful usage of SLI. Check this title out, its awesome, storyline seems to be there so far as well ;)

its excellent. looks amazing as well on pc. I ?think? it might be a modified farcry engine, but the character models are d3 quality. The special 2.0++ shader path for nv 6-series cards is I believe HDR enabled, because aa doesn't work with the 2.0++ path on, plus the performance hit is huge with it enabled. This is a fantastic game though. Definately one of the nicest fps to come out.

just finished playing some more. This game is fantastic. Graphics are awesome and storyline is totally there. It's really very cool. It's not too difficult though, which is my main complaint. But this is really a great game. Will post some screens in a bit.

I'm also impressed by the game. Its not just some crappy port either. It looks high quality, controls perfect with the usual keyboard/mouse setup, has neat hand to hand fighting..its all good. Fantastic lighting and nice models (if a wee plastic looking..but thats ok). Its all good and its only 29.99..can't beat the price.

:) its a great looking game. I am too tired right now, but tomorrow I will post some of the really nice shots, stuff that shows off the character modelling a bit better. nite all.

The game doesn't run all too well on my GF4 4200.

Seems fun, but I may just shelve it until I get a new video card.

funny, I can think of only 2 or arguably 3 other fps that have better graphics. But graphics really aren't everything anyways, this actually has gameplay, as in doom3 is crap compared to it.

In 2.0++ mode my FPS gets cut in half. In 2.0 it's 60fps even. I have a 6800GT. That mode is brutal.
