are you on crack?!

some of the animation scenes were ssssoooooo obviously fake.

and peter went from a little boy to champion swordsman in a few days?! WTF?

and the witch is a master of swords better than a shaolin monk?

and what a stupid unbelievable fight scene between peter and the witch.

and the list goes on...

And not to mention talking lions! I mean, come on! How much do they expect us to believe? Sure, the movie made it very clear that Narnia is a fantasy world, but all fantasy worlds must always stick to what we know about life & physics here in the real world. There must be no tolerance for leniency, even for fantasy worlds. Beavers should chew, lions should roar, 10 year old kids should act like 10 year old kids, and ice queens should never be able to make food appear from drops of "magic" water.

I didn't like it. The storyline seemed weak to me, so did the acting, except the little girl whom was great.
All the review sites that says it's good only backs it up by saying the effects were well done, or it retell's the book well.
Since when is a movie about effects?

you are actually right.

To all the complainers etc...lol....i said it had a LOT of fantasy cliches in it..yes...no doubt...and also..YES, the fighting scene was not really credible.

BUT THEN it is a fantasy movie....the "credibility" should already be gone the second they discover a closet which leads into another world.

A freaking fantasy movie. As is LOTR or sword of truth series or whatever.

How 'credible' is it that a small hobbit and his friend can save a whole continent ? DUH.....etc..etc...know where i am going ?

If i accept a fantasy movie (or the "truth" of the bible, so to speak 😉 as entertainment for a night - then i can very well accept the movie and "shortcomings" and still say that the movie was good.

If you can accept that lions speak or magic exists...or another world which you can enter thru a closet then you could also accept that maybe peter learned to be a good sword-fighter in a day or so.

Btw. another "funny" thing (as said, i ACKNOWLEDGE many cliches and actually this made it almost interesting).....eg. the witch "kill everyone, no prisoners"....but then she is actually NEVER really ever killing one just "freeze" them to ice. (And the lion [for some reason], could re-resurrect them from their frozen state).....baaahhh...does she even know this ? 😉

And..please dont forget it's a disney movie...and tonight there were actually a bunch of kids in the movies, and it was a rather late showing. If i want gore and "realistic" fighting then i would not want to go to a disney movie - but maybe instead watch "platoon" or some horror movie 😉

Edit: i thought the animation scenes were GOOD. (ILM at work..for sure no halfa$$ stuff...and in some scenes i had a HELL of a time to discern whether it was CG...or not...)

It is incredibly close to being a biblical retelling with pretty CGI. About the only difference is that Judas is Peter's brother and Jesus knows he's going to be resurrected before he dies.

After watching movies like the Lord of the Rings, the climactic battle was horrible. The screenplay sucked. Stories like this are best left to the imagination. I won't even begin on how fake everything looked, especially their weapons.

One of the times that my ~$10 was worth it.

@Zugzwang152... uh are you kidding. LOR was a joke... too long and drawn out... not to mention, how are any of these CG battles better than each other? They are CG... and aren't that great IMO. Maybe I'm missing something, but I found Narnia to be entertaining enough to warrant my money spent.

Ever Since Star Wars came out, duh!

😀

But yah, I thought the movie sucked aswell, I agree the fantasy is enough even in LOTR Boramir and Aragorn taught the hobbits how to fight but even then I don't think they were as good as Peter in all of the 20 seconds of "training" he did. The characters were stupid, I liked the little girl, I thought she did a good job, I couldn't stand everyone else though. Susan and that dumb little kid Phillip; so many times I wanted to just reach out and stangle him, I swear.

I almost laughed at the fight scenes and how a little kid whose balls are in the process of dropping can fight the way he does.

It was an incredibly stupid, kiddy film that needs to have all its remnants burned and then p!ssed on to put out the flames.

I give it an F

the directing was AWEFULL!!!. some of the lines and fighting was so cheesy. When the little girl went "oh no!!" when the wolves came down the waterfall was friggin hilarious.

The Peter kid dodging the two sword attack "neo style" was so funny hahahahha.

I think the movie has great comedic value. The special effects were pretty good in the sense that they had the textures and everything down, BUT the damn movements were way off. Due to the aweful movement of the CG animals, it looked so fake.

and when the witch showed up in the final battle w/that chariot pulled by polar bears, i was expecting them to pull out a coke-cola in between fights. and where were the dancing penguins and the baby polar bear.. oh wait.. wrong commercial w/better CGI
