Its not bullshit, but like most "syndromes", its just a label for a list of symptoms, rather than pointing out a cause.

I suffer from fatigue all the time.

For me, I think its a combination of:

- Inefficient metabolism
- Sensitivity to mental stress
- Mild depression
- Mild dehydration

I find that if I force myself to be more social (small groups - anything too big starts to make me anxious), stay physically active, and try to make my sleeping patterns consistent, then my fatigue is not so bad.

I think that for the most part CFS is a mental problem that manifests itself physically, but is made worse by poor physical shape.

i didn't say you were ignorant. i said your post was.

Once again, chiropractor. You're a scam artist and your opinion is worth nothing.

i'm a scam artist? haha how the fuck would you know?

get the fuck back to work...

edit: you know what? you're right. i'm a scam artist. i scammed the pain right out of this lady's leg whenever she came in and had sciatica. i scammed my girlfriend's headaches away with my hands. i really scammed the hell out of the guy who i treated with an excruciating central disc extrusion... he couldn't even walk into the clinic he was in so much pain, but i scammed that wheelchair out from under him and made him walk under his own power back to the car. oh, and the guy who came into the clinic on friday was scammed by me whenever i shot x-rays and found a collapsed vertebra at l1 and told him to see his medical doctor. nerves don't control anything in the body. they're just there for fun. they serve no purpose, whatsoever... and whenever they are compressed, blood vessels are still able to pump the normal amounts of blood (carrying sodium, potassium, water, glucose, etc.) to the nerves, which allows for full and proper function.

oh, and since you know so much about me and how i treat my patients, maybe you can go ahead and tear up my business plan for the bank i want to get the loan from in order to open my own multi-disciplinary clinics with a medical doctor, physical therapist, and chiropractor... just tear it up, because that would actually be GOOD for patients and all i want to do is scam people out of pain.

fucking idiot...

i'm sorry your mom ran off with the chiropractor and you've been bitter ever since, but don't sit there and talk shit about me or what i do when you don't know the first thing about either.

Hahaha, did I touch a nerve (no pun intended) you little fraud? Maybe you should move to Nigeria and try 419 scamming, might be a little less stressful ;)

Troll.

Perhaps you should read the link I posted above. Do a bit of reading on the skeptical perspective of chiropractic before calling me a troll. These people are 100% genuine frauds who should be put out of business. I would be saying the same kind of stuff it eits was a homeopath or an acupuncturist.

I had a chiropractor fuck around with my neck one day. I won't lie, it hurt like shit when he was doing it, but I haven't had a headache in almost 6 months and I was getting them daily.

Ca.l them quacks all you want, but they wouldn't be in business if they didn't help.

His opinion is worth just as much as everyone else's here on this forum. :| Chiropractors are NOT scam artists. There are good chiros, and there are BAD chiros, just as there are BAD doctors.

My chiro in PA was awesome, and had more education and continuing certifications than an average physician. The chiro I tried visiting here in NC was horrible and potentially dangerous. You have to know who you're going to.

Can we say the same about homeopaths, acupuncturists, faith healers, macrobiotic salespeople, astrologers, tarot readers, reflexologists, therapeutic touch practitioners....?

Many physiotherapists operate under the label "chiropractor" because there are many people (yourself included, no offense) who are gullible and think it's a distinguished label. Chiropractic is 100% fraud, but many "chiropractors" are skilled physiotherapists. Don't confuse them.

No idea, never dealt with any of them. The chiropractor stopped my headaches that I had been getting daily for years though. I do have a friend who went to an acupuncturists for muscle pain she was having in her back and she said it helped that. The rest of them I have no idea.

There are a lot of physicians in there who fit the bill and I am sure in 75 years doctors will look at our idea of chemo and radiation for treating cancer as barbaric and unnecessary. Sorry to say, you don't know everything.

So your defense of the times chiropractors help is that they are fake chiropractors? That is pretty weak

Way to twist what I was saying. I should probably create a new thread on this topic as this one is getting way off topic. I'm gonna go have some breakfast then consider doing that.

That applies to CFS, RLS, SARS, etc. Sometimes, even after the cause has been found, the syndrome name remains popular. Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) is one such syndrome. It's no longer a syndrome, as the cause (HIV) has been found, but people still call it AIDS.

To a point.

Definitions of SYNDROME on the Web:

* A group of symptoms and diseases that together are characteristic of a specific condition.
www.aidsinfobbs.org/letters/s.html

* All the signs and symptoms associated with a disease.
www.addiction-rehabilitation.com/glossary.html

* a group of characteristics that occur together.

AIDS is still a syndrome because the groups of symptoms and separate diseases are all characteristic of someone infected with HIV. Having the flu, thrush, etc. is not a result of HIV...HIV just inhibits one's ability to fight them off.

My 8th grade English teacher claimed to have CFS. She ended up leaving after half the school year and never came back. None of us really knew what it was, we just knew we didn't really like her.

It pains me to hear people say that CFS isn't a real issue, and that it's all mental. Mostly because I remember the day they diagnosed me with CFS/Fibromyalgia and how it nearly dealt a death blow to my life.

However, it didn't completely consume by life. Eventually I came to conquer some of the most physically demanding tasks that some people never get to experience. Granted I can do more now, I still feel the same pain every day. I'd hate to think that I did all this work to overcome something that doesn't exist.

I was diagnosed with Fibro, but from what I've been hearing, people with CFS are said to have symptoms comparable to FMS, just not as extreme.

not at all. chiropractic is the largest form of alternative health care out there and growing fast. the only reason it's taken as long as it has for growth is because of all of the hurdles that were thrown (and, in some cases, still are thrown) by the american medical association.

read about the wilk case to the supreme court.

also, there is valid science behind chiropractic (and acupuncture), where there isn't much whatsoever behind those others. it will take time and a bigger lobby in order for more research to be shown.

furthermore, chiropractic schools teach the same material taught at medical school (i've been to both). it will take time and a bigger lobby in order for more research to come out further proving the effectiveness of chiropractic care.

Alright well it was a typo and I guess I was tired.[/quote]

You have the two main symptoms of chronic misspeller's syndrome.
