This damm thing was the easiest thing to set up when I first got it.
Nothing to it. Plug and play.
I touted to everyone how genius this damm thing is.
Haven't used it in a couple of weeks so I plugged it in tonight and it started updating.
Once it was done, none of my device playing netflix/youtube would show the "Cast" icon.
So I did a factory reset on the thing.
My Android device recognized the Chromecast again. Tried syncing with the wifi at home but it wouldn't connect.
So I did a reset again and tried it with the iPad. It seem to go through the entire process just fine. Even said my wifi network on the TV.
Tried netflix/youtube again and no "cast" icon any where.
I've been going through this over and over and its driving me insane.
Had it was this difficult, when I first got it, it would have been right back at the store.
WTF.....nothing has changed except I changed out my cable modem box a couple of weeks ago.
Did the update to something to it ??
I swear I want to break this damm thing into pieces.

no need to reset to factory defaults... you'll need to do first time setup again, easiest is with chromecast android app.

Have you tried rebooting your wifi router? Unplug it and wait 30 seconds and plug it back in to make sure its cache is flushed. My router is flaky so I know whenever something connected wirelessly is misbehaving all I needed to do is just reboot/flush its cache and it always fixed it.
