You don't have to get an "out of memory" message for performance to be impacted. Ever hear of a page file?

If you use a modern browser, buy a modern computer. Otherwise, you can use an old browser. You should be able to find an old version you can download.

Looking at my browser stats for the day. Have 9 tabs open (including chrome's about:memory page) 435 MB of RAM, running: Adblock, a dictionary app, gmail extension, a proxy extension, and IE Tab.

My FF is using 249mb with 25 tabs in 1 window and 2 in another.

No add-ons. Seems decent to me.

I'd be more interested in knowing why Yahoo Messenger is using 102mb with no chat windows open or anything.
