Christmas present

On a lighter note from the devastating news on TV how was everyones Christmas?

Here's what I ended up getting:

http://www.nintendo.com/systemsds

Well actually I asked for a Gameboy SP and when I got one I decided I'd return it and use some other money I had gotten to upgrade to a DS. Some may think this is a kiddy toy for someone my age, 22, but there are in fact lots of older gamers out there with Game Boys. At the moment I don't have any games for it, well except for the Metroid Demo it came with, which is actually fairly impressive! I'm not really interested in any of the DS titles out there yet so I thought that my first purchase would be a Nintendo SP title, the DS is backwards compatible with the SP. A few RPGs come to mind such as "Final Fantasy Tactics Advance", "Final Fantasy I & II" and a few others, but I haven't made up my mind. Anyone have any suggestions?

I got Final Fantasy: Dawn of Souls for christmas. I bought my GBA for _this_ game. It's been a bitch putting the damned thing down. But Final Fantasy I was the game that really got me into gaming for a while.

LeadFrog: Perhaps hardware wise but I've always been a fan of Nintendo's franchises, Zelda, Mario, etc.. And while the PSP has a lot of potential it also has an uphill battle to fight to earn the respect of hand held gamers. In the end it's the games that matter and in that respect I favour Nintendo though really it's up in the air as to which system will turn out to have the most high quality games. One thing's for sure the DS is selling very well!

although i hate playstation, i'm going to wait for it to come out before i purchase a portable game system. while the psp looks promising, im afraid it may have a horrible battery life...
