I swear, all Christmas lights are manufactured by one friggin factory in China somewhere, and just put in different boxes for different stores/brands. WHY DO ALL MULTI-COLOR CHRISTMAS LIGHT STRINGS NOW CONTAIN PINK LIGHTS?!?!?!?!!??!?!? BLAAAAAARGH! I HATE PINK CHRISTMAS LIGHTS. PINK IS NOT AN OFFICIAL COLOR FOR CHRISTMAS LIGHT STRINGS.
I am so annoyed. Up til last year, I bought all my Christmas lights at Kmart: White-Westinghouse 100ct. strings, made exclusively for Kmart. I had over 20 strings of clear, and 11 strings of multi-colored. I went with those lights because their multi-color strings had 4 colors: yellow, red, green and blue....NO PINK. Well, this year, I go to Kmart, and guess what? yep, no more White-Westinghouse lights. They've got GE, which contains pink, they've got "Trim-A-Home", which again contains pink, and they've now got Martha Stewart lights, which I don't know whether they're got pink or not, I simply refused to look at them at all. (no self-respecting man would own Martha Stewart lights).
So, I go look at CVS, Wal-Mart, Lowes, etc, etc, and every multi-color set that I've looked at so far contains PINK LIGHTS. BLARGH! Well, Lowes did have a set that doesn't contain pink, but it was a set that does like 8 different 'effects', so it's like $9 for a 100-light set... costs 2-3 times more than a standard 'non-effect' 100-light set.
So, at this point, my options are:
1) give in, throw out my old strings, and buy new strings containing pink lights
2) buy the 'effects' strings at Lowes and pay $$$
3) buy multi-color sets containing pink bulbs, and then also buy strings that are all one color, buying red, green, blue, and yellow sets. Then pull all the pink bulbs out of the multi-color set, and replace them with bulbs from the solid-color sets. (this is a royal pain in the butt just thinking about doing this.)
So, what do you think? Do you like pink Christmas lights? Hate'em? Couldn't care less? Think i'm just anal?
