Well... we had a great lan

The top prize of the night was an Ultra X-Connect 500Watt Modular Power supply. Once again we all got our butts kicked by pyrotek in the UT2004 tournament. We are currently in talks within the group to plan the next LAN date so stay in touch with MTVLAN.com if you are interested in attending a LAN in southern illinois some time in may. There are MANY hotels in the area possibly willing to offer a discount to a person who only wants to stay during the daytime (then they could re rent the room at night). You'd never know unless you ask.

not inside the event - it is a church after all - and there are some younger people in attendance

also do not come highly under the influence... (most of us are college students so that term isnt too loose)
if you are too drunk for others around you to have fun you will probably be asked to leave

how big would this "LAN room" be? and would it be pre-networked and all?

prenetworked meaning what? It has its own server, or just a bunch of RJ45 jacks in the wall? Cause if u actually had adult friends who would use it, or had kids that would, Id say tahts not a bad idea, just use like half the basement... put down tile flooring.. install some fridges and network the place, nothing too hard, a good "study" room too

Nah, the house would be all gigabit with a couple of application and file servers in a wiring closet. I figure 24 ports in the basement (finished mind you) and one in each room of the house, prolly 32-48 all together. When you figure out the cost of it ($5-600 for the network, $3k for app/file server) it amounts to about nothing when buying a house.

Trust me, you really don't want to go into all I have planned for my house.
