I haven't seen any Christmas stuff yet, but they've had Halloween gear up since Labor Day. This reminds me that I need to go remove the light bulb outside my door so I don't get any kids on the 31st. For some reason there's no switch for it.

They've done gone and ruined it.

Oh well. At least I'm going to see the Nutcracker ballet middle of December, that oughta kick the holiday spirit in after these retailers have killed it.

Where at? I'm thinking about going to my daughter's old school production this year. It's a mixed bag. All the kids are in on it from beginner to pre professional, as well as a couple imported pros. The little kids screwup, but it's cute. I used to help do setup, and infrastructure(set changes and whatnot). That was a lot of fun. Hard work, but fun. I'm not particularly artsy, so it was cool being part of a successful production as a non performer.

I live close to NYC so I am seeing the production at Lincoln Center in Manhattan by the NYC Ballet company. We'll go after to see the tree. It's my first Christmas in years with a significant other so all those standard touristy things become fun again and romantic 🙂

Plays and musicals are tough to pull off on any level. Being a part of it sure is rewarding, a lot goes on behind the scenes. Good stuff.

It's already getting cold out. It's 50F/10C as we speak - fit for neither man nor beast.

They're calling for 5cm of snow here overnight. But it's the wet crappy stuff, so it will probably be mixed in with rain. I can't wait for us to get a REAL winter so I can finish building my shed. It keeps raining all the time.

Lucky... It was 75 today. Miserable. 50 is just about perfect, especially if it's cloudy. Good for sitting outside by a fire with a glass of whisky. Leaves falling, geese and swans honking, and no bugs.

Yep, it's cloudy. No fire outside, just drug deals, cars with booming stereos rattling their broken doors, the neighbors' kid screaming, and those same neighbors' rotting garbage bags and sacks of dog poop sitting by their door.

Hey, I didn't tell you to move to MO. In fact, had you asked me, I'd have *strongly* recommended against it. You need a little New Hampshire to put things into perspective ;^)

I hope whoever he's coming in is on birth control or he's wearing a condom. The pull out method, albeit way more fun, isn't the most reliable.

I know it feels like I bag on STL a lot, but that's actually what it's like out there. 😛 I'll get to live where I want one day. It's at least quiet at night here, which is much different than when I lived in the city proper.

Bumping because I was in Walgreens yesterday getting a birthday card for my dad. One of the employees was filling up the card aisle with Christmas cards, and Halloween cards are now limited to just one tiny section.

WTF?

With Costco, having the Christmas crap in early makes sense as their commercial customers have to have the stuff to built their own store displays.
