The heck are you talking about?

I agree religion should be totally separate. I don't agree with trampling over anyone's rights, however.

But no ones rights are being trampled. You and your fellow evangelists may have a right to preach and proselytize in certain public areas and people have a right to walk away. You (not you personally) may think that people need saving but don't you think you should check with them before spouting off Bible verses?

The study bought up in the OP was backed and probably financed by two Christian groups; it may just be a little biased don't you think?

Think about how you'd feel if instead of Christians being in the majority they were in the minority and you saw and read about the majority religions' believers petitioning government to get special consideration or have laws favoring their majority written and passed. I don't think you'd like it anymore than atheists, agnostics or members of minority religions in this country do.

There is massive attacks on Christianity that is organized by left wing organizations. It is hatred, pure hatred against Christians but nothing about any other religion. When Brevik murdered all those people the media immediately reported he was a Christian Fundamentalist even though he made fun of people that believe in God. But if it was a Muslim they wouldn't mention the religion.

Bureaucrats and other scum in the government are attacking Christianity like the obamacare mandate.

The government is the one that is starting and funding these attacks so they have to stop

You've been here since April. How much longer with this site tolerate you?

...but, he said.

It case it wasn't clear, I'll state my point more strongly -- religious beliefs are disgraceful and shameful, showing a complete lack of willpower and unwillingness to take personal responsibility for your own life, and should be hidden from public view.

... what I took from this is that he wants religion stamped out period, hence, trampling on rights.

I honestly would not care because I am not a lawmaker/Government official. I don't have a say, so why should I get mad? Sometimes, I think the public get jealous because they see religion as a big business and are tax-exempt. While I agree to some degree, all of them aren't like that.

However, you can walk in a Church and don't have to donate or buy anything, and as far as I know, Bible/other literature don't have a price on them. You get them for free of charge in a Church organization.

Ask them first? Believe it or not, everyone doesn't outright reject it. Maybe you do, and that's your choice. But the Bible tells them to preach. If you reject, it... then that's that basically...

As most any atheist will tell you the best way to become an atheist is to actually read the bible.

I doubt anyone is mad that you think a book of fairytales is the most important thing the world is ever known. More than likely they're just sick of you pushing it in their faces, like most of the rest of the country is, and then turning around and saying that you are somehow persecuted when we tell you to get out of our fucking faces.

Jesus said to pray in private. Muslims are the ones who are supposed to pray in public in a group. You sure you read the right book?

I know that is why they should be banning him from talking about religion at a taxpayer funded school. I thought you were going to follow where i was going with that...

But if he wasnt Christian they would let him talk about it though, the whole point is that they are suppressing Christians in favor of others

There have been many cases where Christianity is attacked/removed so not to offend minorities.

Yeah, because it is offensive to most non-believers. The only thing more offensive is you assholes pushing it like heroin on the rest of the world. Go start another crusade while your pastors or whatever rape some more kids you fucking drooling moron.

Fyi, Jesus also to preach and make disciples (Matt 24:14 and Matt 28:19-20).

Keep cherry picking to suit your needs and making you look silly becomes much easier...

nope, i'm serious. You ever read the whole thing?
Yep.

So, just because you don't agree with it, it should be banned? Like I said, you all want to replace the constitution with a personal daily journal and just violate people all up and down who won't adopt what some see as a fairytale opinion as well.

Go ahead, see how far that gets you...

Yeah, preach and make disciples of people who want to hear it, not everyone that comes within earshot of your mouth. Making me look silly seems like a rather shocking motivation for a Christian....

Typical.

HAHA. Calling someone a cherry picker as you cherry pick as well...classic. HAHA

We just want you to keep your religion to yourself. We dont want you preaching to people on the streets. There is a time and place for religion and its not in the public square. We are not trying to ban religion we just want to keep it in its rightful place. Church/Home/Heart.

We also dont want religions influencing government decisions.

But as you can see none of that is trying to ban religion. You can be religious on your own time. Not the publics time.

I agree with the government part... whole heartedly.

Actually, you did all the work -- I just pointed it out.

They are not attacked, we simply ask that the laws that are already in place be applied to Christians as well as minority groups. You are seeing demands for equal treatment as an attack.

So different people have their own limits on what they find is acceptable. I'm speaking only for myself.

I guess because you're part of the Christian majority you can't or won't see the problem of having our country's laws interpreted through or created from within the narrow lens of your religion. You don't have a say? You do have a vote and a voice, the same as everyone else. Just because an injustice doesn't affect you doesn't mean that it shouldn't be stopped.

Yes, ask them first: "Excuse me, sir or ma'am. Do you mind if I ask if you're a Christian? Because if you aren't, then I'd really like to change your worldview." It's called being polite.
