My mom thinks that. Most of the time, the people who believe that playing DnD will lead you over to demonic posession are the same people who believe works can get you into heaven and works can send you to hell.

Yup, I had a childhood friend whose parents forced him to throw away all his D&D stuff and stop hanging around with us as they were worried he'd become posessed or something.

In an amazing twist of irony, I (the D&D playing, heavy-metal listening, trenchcoat wearing, athiest) am happily married and gainfully employed whereas their son they were so keen to protect is a crackhead in and out of jail in Detroit last I heard.

The folks at Chick publications aren't Christian, IMHO. They're crazy lunatics that have no concept of being charitable.

/edit -- somehow, these tracts look like they belong in a Mad Magazine. :)

I just rolled up a new D&D character last night :)

Yes, I admit, I am 24 year old geek who still plays D&D. Gives my friends and I something to do when our S/O's are at work on Friday and Saturday nights.

Big deal. I know a whole group (including myself, if I ever take the time to learn how to play) of 20-somethings that play D&D on a regular basis. And as far as I know, no a single one of us has yet been possessed :D

I would also like to add that the "Dragon Master" doof off of the Triumph Episode II clip IS not representative of most paper RPG players :)

I used to play D&D. Now I play MageKnight: Dungeons. What are the implications of the twisty base on my relationship with Christ?! I can't wait to hear :)

I'm working on a pamphlet that shows that Risk teaches us to be megalomaniacs who are obsessed with fortified borders and care little for what's inside them, which teaches people to fortify their hearts against Christ and neglect their spirit in favor of trying to take over the world.

And anyone that plays "Pin The Tail On the Donkey...." I don't even need to say where you're going.

Jack Chick is pretty much a lunatic. There was a kid in my high school who used to hand out those little booklets. This one is one of my favorites (apparently, he has a problem with gluons too).

I think D&D should sue their asses for slander.

Its sad that people actually think D&D has ties to the occult. And its even worse when people actually believe others who say there is.

Jeez next thing you know they will claim that playing Counter-Strike will cause you to hurt animals.
