NRP's All Things Considered reported a story that alleged anthrax attacker Bruce Ivans may have been motivated by anti-abortion (and presumably Christian) fervor. Did he do it for Jesus?

http://www.npr.org/templates/s...y.php?storyId=93385756

Bruce Ivins may have targeted Sens. Tom Daschle and Patrick Leahy with anthrax-laced letters in 2001 because he saw them as bad Catholics owing to their votes in favor of abortion rights, officials close to the investigation say.

-----

Ivins and his wife were both practicing Catholics, and their children had attended and graduated from a Catholic high school in Frederick, Md. His wife, Diane Ivins, according to an e-mail Ivins wrote in 2002, was president of the Frederick County Right to Life, and the couple had connections to many other anti-abortion groups.

If I'm not mistaken there's a fair bit of question as to whether this guy was the attacker at all despite the FBI's insistence.

So what's the implication here, Christian churches are powder kegs of Anthrax ready to go off at any moment?

I take the implication that in the absence of even credible circumstantial evidence beyond access to anthrax spores linking Ivins to the mailings, the FBI will use anything they can to sell the case in the media.

They aren't buying the Creepy Sorority Stalker line - you suppose they'll go for Radical Religious Nut?

I'm leaning towards the fact he wasn't and the FBI blew it or is covering for who/what really did it.

Yes, that's exactly it.

Did Ivans actually have anything to do with the mailings? Or was he a convenient dead man and thus unable to take his accusers to court?

According to the news reports, the FBI was growing suspicious of him and then he committed suicide. Unless there's real evidence to the contrary, anything beyond wild speculation other than that is kook territory.

it would be interesting if the authorites told us what type of anthrax the israeli mossad had in their Weehawken, NJ urban movers warehouse. these guys got busted celebrating with the twin towers burning in the backgroud. also the dropoff point for the anthrax letters was only about 50 miles south from this warehouse.

According to ABC?s 20/20, when the van belonging to the cheering Israelis was stopped by the police, the driver of the van, Sivan Kurzberg, told the officers:
"We are Israelis. We are not your problem. Your problems are our problems. The Palestinians are your problem."

one anthrax note stated:
u can not stop us
we have this anthrax
u die now
are u afraid
death to israel
death to america
allah is great

there is alot of doubt that this guy was the "lone gunman". as for "did he do it for jesus"
well, what would one do for zionism?? u know what i mean whipper!! one could be a christian or a jew and be a zionist. but there are those jews that are against zionism as i hope we all know about.

i dont think this guy (ivans) was caught celebrating with the towers burning in the background.
from wiki-
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mossad
From its headquarters in the Israeli city of Tel Aviv, the Mossad oversees a staff estimated at 1200 personnel, although it may have numbered up to 2000 in the late 1980s.

out of only 1200 personnel, what are the odds of one being caught celebrating with the towers burning in the background and allegedly having anthrax in their warehouse.

all im showing is that there are other avenues to explore. and i would love to know what strain and if that strain of anthrax was weaponized.
