Christ, I didn't know we were up to this much capacity in Compact Flash cards!!

Check this thing out!

High capacity Compact Flash card

I don't think I'll ever have to download pics again to my PC (I have a 4MP camera, A80). This is also some really fast memory and should go great with an 8MP+ SLR camera if you are planning to take ALOT of pics and are going to be away from your PC for a long time!

8GB!!! Jesus Christ! I still can't get over that capacity. I have a 512MB card and it can hold 200+ pics at the highest quality (4MP camera).

Yeah they are getting bigger, and now they will only be getting smaller,

Here

I wouldn't be surprised to see these in Digital Camera's sometime soon.

$900 is still a little steap. You could buy nine 1GB cards for $72 less or five 2GB cards for $30 less!

(BTW, I do not believe in putting ALL of my photographic eggs in one basket/CF card. So much to lose.)

There are camera's that take 800x600 video's at 15 frames a second and 640x480 (I think) at 30 frames a second which eat up a lot of space (250 mb for a minute...). Maybe it's a good alternative for long video's yet still have plenty of space for tons of images? Either way it is a lot of money to spend on such a small device.

A serious user would have to be crazy enough to buy one of them... a waste in my eyes.

I have the 1 gig memory pro stick in my Sony V1.
Believe it or not, I've filled it a few times when shooting Mpeg videos of roller coasters.
The memory stick costed more than the camera.

I just went to the Jingle Ball concert down here in South Florida on Sunday, and shot entire songs.

Good thing for me ServerSeed gives me a break on my bandwidth in return for pimping his site. I can host the videos. I'm working on my Jingle Ball pages right now. Bandwidth needs to catch up so more people can host videos like me.

Here's my coaster videos if you want to see them.

I would love something like this to use as a backup device in my laptop for my important projects. I'm not about to shell out $900 for one, though! I'll wait a year until they drop to, um, $850. 🙂

For the people concerned about the price, yes it's REALLY expensive. But not long ago 1GB Sandisk Ultra II cards were $200+ and now they're under $100 ($92 with free shipping at ZZF). The price will definitely come down in time. I pick one up once it hits $200. 🙂

I use two 1GB SanDisk Ultra II CF cards with my Canon EOS-20D. If I shoot in RAW + JPEG, I can only get some 80 pictures on one card.

That camera is AWESOME! How do you like it and how much did you pay for it?! I'd LOVE to have one of those!!

I bought the Kit with the 17-85 IS lens from B&H Photo for $1999.99. So far, I am very pleased with it, and I am very glad that I got the lens with IS as it makes a huge difference when taking hand-held shots in low light.

I upgraded from a PowerShot G2 and am by no means an expert with a DLSR.

Here are two of the first test shots I took with my 20D:

Test Shot 1
(Size reduction of original. No other alterations.)
Test Shot 1 Zoom
(Crop of original. No other alterations.)

ISO 800
Shutter 1/6 sec (IS on!)
Aperature Value 7.6
F-Stop 14
Focal length 38mm

Test Shot 2
(Size reduction of original. No other alterations.)
Test Shot 2 Zoom
(Crop of original. No other alterations.)

ISO 200
Shutter 1/13 sec (IS on!)
Aperature Value 5.0
F-Stop 5.6
Focal length 75mm

DAMN! That ISO 800 shot looks AWESOME! VERY little to no noise (I couldn't see any)! I was planning on getting the 20D kit with the 18-55mm lens and then also get this lens. HOPEFULLY I can get this combo in the beginning of next year. 🙂

AWESOME camera man and great shots!

I had been looking for a picture of that, thanks.🙂 I don't think it'll replace the really thin memory types like SD, but it could catch on as a competitor for CF.
