Chris Rock's SNL monologue. Do you think it was offensive?

Not offensive so much as unfunny and disastrously behind the times. I was waiting for him to go off on riffs about the Iran hostage crisis and the fall of Saigon.

marked to watch later.

pretty sure i won't find it offensive though, because he's a comedian and just trying to make people laugh. i don't see how it could be any "worse" or "more offensive" than his other standups.

i don't get offended by comedians.

It was the worst snl monologue I've seen in years and the worst perforomance I've ever seen Chris rock do. And I like Chris rock.

That prince performance though - fucking fire.

I don't really think it was offensive at all. Kinda funny. I like Rock; I thought it was pretty standard Chris Rock.

it's hard to the make the Boston bombing funny, I cringed a little when he tried to pull it off. After the 26 miles thing it went much better for him.
I applaud him for taking a very big risk, anyone else trying to pull that off will get boo-ed without a dbout.

Wasn't offensive, but I felt some tension on the Boston thing. Maybe a little too soon. That's a very fine line to walk. Easy to screw it up.

not offended, but this was all around the worst SNL in years, by a wide margin.

The first time I clicked that link, I got a message overlay on top of the video stating that they were "Unable to load a message from one of our sponsors." Damn straight. It then went on to say that if I was using ad blocking software (I am, ff w/ad-block) I could click a link to enable ads. I clicked the back button instead.

So then I wanted to quote the message so I clicked the link again, and this time it started playing a 25 second advertisement. Not sure how they did that trick. But generally sites that think I will watch a 25 second ad to get a little bit of video that will end up on some ad-free viral site if it's any good are dreaming. 25 seconds seems like a looong time anymore.

Offensive? No. Risque? Yes. But, it's his job to walk that line.

I got that, too. But I noticed that the Ad time countdown kept going down so I just waited the 25 seconds and then the video started.

He walked the usual line he walked with his comedy. Wasn't the best SNL, wasn't the worst. And yea, Prince, as usual, kicked major ass.

I thought his monologue stunk.

I really can't see why anyone likes Prince these days? :p

I agree, which means it's the end times.

But, Chris Rock tries so hard to be offensive, I'm sure he'd be vastly disappointed if we didn't feel that way.
