sad but true. racism today is more mental than physical. back in the day you would be called the N word to your face and probably beaten or probably killed by a good ole' fashion hanging, but at least you knew where you stood. :p

these days, they will smile in your face, shake your hand, talk small talk to you, pretend like they care, but behind close doors, I bet the N word, the word P***h Monkey and other racial epithets just go flying around as freely as the scotch and cigars they are smoking.

I feel sorry for Obama. Not only does he have the weight of the world on his shoulders, he has to fight an uphill battle trying to prove that he is as every bit as smart, wise, and a world leader like every other non person of color.

it's true and the people who deny this really need to look in the mirror and ask themselves, am i a closet racist? do i have preconceived notions about people who don't look like me? do i think i am better than any other race?

hmmmmm.

You quite watching MSNBC because Rachels Maddow posted low rattings?
How you derived that from my post is a mystery. But it does give some context to the rest of your post. You must feel pretty good to know you're in that ever shrinking infinitesimally small demographic that recognizes her level of genius.

let’s face it many people simply don’t have the attention span to listen to an op-ed opinion show like hers. The fact that she is smart woman, an Oxford educated PhD scares and threatens many, especially the anti-intellectuals. Sometimes when i watch her if it’s a topic I don’t care about I tune out but for ones I do the information is presented in depth.

I don’t watch any other MSNBC commentators. Mathews yells too much, sharpton cant articulate well and drives me nuts listing to him, maybe over time with more practice, but I still don’t like his past press mongering. But I do miss Keith.

People can't simply oppose him for being an authoritarian marxist bent on transforming the country into something unrecognizable? Would any criticism of Obama be valid or would it all just be thinly veiled racism? After all, we all know that before Obama presidents never had anything said about them that wasn't heaps of praise.

I am big time liberal....but I have a difficult time with Mr Matthews. He asks a question and then proceeds to talk over the response. With limited time to exhibit points of view it only allows Matthews voice. Very frustrating.

You only think that way because of thinly veiled rasicsm.

I have all the power to dismantle any point or critiscm you make because of the color of the presidents skin.... And therefore because you must be rasict your point is absurd. That is to say, no folks can't oppose the president based on what they believe his policies and rhetoric to be about, they can only oppose him because they are rascits. Even if they don't know they are racists. Trust me Mr. Matthews knows these things.

Is anyone so daft to fail to see that folks like Chris Matthews is the rasict? Typically when we judge situations soley based on skin tones rather than content this is rascit right?

Perhaps we can start by letting folks be wrong about a situation involving the president and simply let them be wrong instead of "rasicsm". This has the benefit of shinning light on situations when the race card is pulled, because it means someone is close to the truth on a matter and/or the person crying rasicsm has given up their rasict way of seeing everything.

Well notice trump nor Mittens were elected president in the end. So who cares about either one of "them"?

It's no longer election season.
So naturally most news media has a hard time with ratings.
Faux news is still harping on Bengazi or what ever the hell it's called. Most sane people have moved on.

Besides everyone knows that masterbating and too much news network makes one go blind, after first going postal. Then the desire for sex change reassignment.

So you think Benghazi is a joke? Typical leftist.

I am absolutely shocked, shocked I tell you that a left wing hack would continue to push the idea that anyone opposed to the idiotic policies pushed by obummer must be a racist.

Just the usual Matthews BS.

This is typical of them using the race card all the time and the OP believes this crap.

No, there are some forms of criticism which are not racist. Specifically, claims that he is too nice, too reasonable, and too desirous of compromise with Republicans is not racist. Those are just common sense.

I wonder if Chris Matthews thinks everyone who says they voted for Obama because he's black are racists.

Remember, Clinton was the first black president.
No, the first black President was Chester Arthur. He must have been black because his natural-born citizenship to be eligible for President was questioned, and supposedly that only happens to black Presidents.

Yes and can you, with your pea sized brain, understand why it would be crossing the line?

Try reading a fucking history book, hell! Try reading any book!

Sometimes I think you are gunning for incorruptible's crown for the dumbest poster on AT. If you weren't allowed to post your stupid false equivalences I bet you would have one post per day.

This refrain of "if you oppose Obama you must be racist" from the left is getting very tired. I'm sure there are plenty of people who can't stand to have a black/brown man in the white house, but there are plenty of legitimate reasons to dislike Obama or his administration.

Matthews is full of shit on this...

There are plenty of legitimate reasons to dislike Obama. The people who are full of shit are the ones who dislike him because he's Foreign/Marxist/Muslim/perilously close to impeachment. They are either just racist or perilously close to crazy.

And what's getting very tired is the right's "if you oppose Obama you must be racist" shield of conservative victim hood +1 they pull out every time the subject is broached.

What what WHAT? I can't believe it! People swore Obama was the first time in history that a president's citizenship and eligibility to run was questioned and that it was clearly because of race.

You mean the left would LIE? My gosh!

Four years of being told you're a racist because you disagree with Obama's politics will do that.

Hey, wait a minute... this very thread is about Chris Matthews still calling people racist for disagreeing with Obama's politics!

If you're tired of the right's "shield of conservative victim hood," go tell Chris Matthews to shut up.

Then stop throwing around "racist" and in many cases painting everyone who disagrees with obama with that brush.

Though i do admit if you ignore the fringe (such as matthews and hell all of CNBC) you don't hear it as often as you did the first term.

It does get tiring hearing "racist" thrown around just because people disagree or argue against him. also i feel it makes true racist more bold when everyone is getting called racist (hell you can see that on the board as proof)

:biggrin::biggrin:

Did you even read the OP? This thread is about Matthews (left wing hack) asserting once again that everyone who disagrees with the dear leader does so because they must be racist. If you get tired of conservatives saying they are accused of being racist, perhaps it would help if those throwing around the false accusations (like Matthews) would stop doing that.

No it's not, and no he didn't. He was very specific on who and what criticisms he was talking about, and the second link absolutely backs up what he's saying.
