I'm a fan of Chris Matthews though I think he's gotten a little more partisan over the last few years or maybe the GOP has just gotten more radical. I don't necessarily like his tone, but am glad somebody called out Reince Preibus for the rhetoric.

On a side note. How is Scarborough even have his own show? He has to be the consistantly least knowledgeable person on his set.

Enough said. He's a complete left wing hack and an idiot to boot. That says it all.

I think he's an intelligent, thoughtful guy who has good insight who gives tough interviews to both sides.

If you had a choice, what commentator would you think as a model of intelligence and impartiality.

Matthews just put himself in Janeane Garofalo territory saying that mentioning the elimination of the work requirement is playing a race card. Good for Joe Scarborough for calling out that Bullshit.

hahahahahaha. Good one. Wait, you were serious?

I don't watch fox much, but Shep Smith seems pretty reasonable. That doesn't mean I agree with him on everything, but at least he seems to present better than most of the hacks out there.

I just listened to the rest of it. Reince Priebus is hardly a good debater and yet Chris Mathews lets the guy get 1/2 a sentence out then starts yelling over him. The whole panel is basically telling him to shut up.

Romney's false ads play directly into the fear and anger of many on the Right about "those lazy black people who want your money". Also see: "food stamp President", "welfare queens", etc..

I don't like when he cuts people off. But, it's sad when politicians come on shows and regurgitate their ridiculous talking points and the hosts sit around quietly listening. Like really, O'bama taks his cues from Europe because of Universal Health care or Keynsian Economics? The question is why would Reince come on and say something that stupid and think it was ok?

That's the reason I respect him, he cuts through the BS. But at times he can be quck to the draw and wrong.

There is no racism in that ad. It doesn't even show a black person.

I mean, we can disagree with someone and yet say they are still intelligent. He was a speach writer for Carter and top aide to Tip O'neill.

I agree about Shep. I refuse to watch Fixed News becasue of the clear bias and listening to them generally gives me a headache.

Because you'll ask, I only watch Hardall on MSNBC (well I watch Melissa Harris Perry once in a while since a friend writes for the show). Though I think the commentators with some exceptions are generally smart and articulate..

Shepard Smith is very good, I agree.

Isn't that because he just reports the news and doesn't offer analysis?

People think someone has a bias based on their analysis and Shep's show doesn't do that. He gets emotional when reporting sometimes, but avoids doing any political analysis which is why i think he comes off as an impartial guy.

He gives some analysis, but it is mostly him restating what is said in a far simpler form but still keeps the crux of what was said. He is definately a conservative, and as such his views will have a conservative slant (no one can avoid their views coloring their analysis), but it is a very minor slant.

Yeah, that can't be considered any real analysis. If he ever tries to do a political analysis show like those other talking heads you'll see his slant i'm sure, but it probably will be less extreme due to his news reporting experience.

You can't show a conservative how he divides his world into teams, the conservatives being the real Americans, and everybody else playing for the devil. You can tell him or her how hideously unfair and ethically immoral that is because he holds all the ethic cards in his alternate reality world view. There is not the slightest chance that liberal moral outrage at his evil can penetrate to consideration of the fact that this is what he does. The greater the rage the greater the smirk on his face and the greater the denial becomes. Poor poor liberals. They live in a world where they can see that millions of ordinary people have been replaced by body snatchers or zombies and there's nobody they can tell. Poor poor Chicken Little. Fox News has eaten them and is making its move on the king.

I did not like Matthews tone either, but that had to be said.

Honestly it's about time a liberal stands up on national television and calls the Republicans on their complete and utter bullshit. You could literally feel the manhood escaping Priebus in that interview. He was not at all prepared for Matthews.

Side note, why on earth is this Priebus guy head of the RNC? He's absolutely terrible at public speaking.

That was good. Chris took it to him. Hey I don't care for Obama all that much, really don't. But sadly at this point he is better than what the Republicans are offering.

chris mathews really is a pos and a partisan hack, He only goes after republicans but not the democrats

I used to watch him during the democratic primaries when he had the candiadates at the the Kennedy School of Government. Pretty tough interviewer. I appreicate somebody asking tough follow up quesitons.

Again. I think over the last few years he has got a little more hyprbolic, so less Repub guests. But, I catch him at 7 or stream the show if I miss it.

Not sure how anyone can think the GOP chairman came out of that looking good. It's about time someone asked those questions.

Matthews did not let up like 99.99% of reporters would have when fed typical GOP talking points. He really hammered Priebus again and again. It was quite sad to watch to see a man literally get his manhood taken away from him in about 5 minutes.

I wouldn't be surprised if Priebus is out after this election. He's been pretty pathetic as RNC chairman, although I can't say I care much for the DNC chair either. She's almost as bad and clueless.
