Choppy DVD play...need solution..

I installed a DVD in place of the CD on my Dad's comp...LX mb with 128mb memory. Celeron 533 and a TNT 1 video card. Mediamatic's DVD Express for software decoding.

Movies are watchable, but with bothersome stuttering.

Is the TNT card the limiting factor here, or should I opt for a decoder card and or a TNT 2 or better? I'm maxed on the cpu on this board and no plans in the immediate future to upgrade mb and processor.

firstly, is DMA enabled for the dvd drive in device manager??
