Chopping DivX - anyone have experience?

When i chop a divx file into 2 parts using AVIchop, the first half isn't viewable in Windows media player. no sound, no picture. but the second half is fine. anyone know any other applications that will work 100% thanks.

I agree. VirtualDub is MUCH better than AVIchop! With AVIchop you have no idea where you are chopping the video. It could be right in the middle of a scene. With VirualDub you can chop it EXACTLY where you want (for instance, right after a scene).

<< but doesn't virtualdub make you recompress the part yo uwant to save? or am i missing how ot do it without recompressing, >>

No, you don't have to recompress it. Just set both the audio and video to "direct stream copy", and chop the video at a keyframe to avoid problems.

look here for a detailed how-to.
