Choosing between 2 PSU's

I'm trying to decided between this two power supplys. Both are quiet, and got good reviews for each unit, and are around the same price. I'm leaning toward the Thermaltake now, but I still want ya'lls input. Does the dual fan of the Thermaltake make it really much lowder, or is it still pretty quiet?

edit: the Fortron PSU in question is the FSP400-60PFN

Both are excellent supplies (TT uses the same PSUs as Enlight). The Fortron will pull more power safely, too, so one doesn't really give more juice than the other. If one is cheaper, get that one. Otherwise, flip a coin.
I have no idea how loud either one are, but you can always replace fans.
Search on SPCR's forums and see if anyone has used either supply.

I'm pretty sure Nexus and SilenX both use Fortron for their 400w PSU's, check www.silentpcreview.com if you want to check. Both of those power supplies are very good from what I've read. I would go with the Fortron and replace the fan with a panaflo L1A, personally.

is it really difficult to change out the fan? and if I replace it straight out of the box, will it be safe to? I do have a NMB fan laying around that I could use.

I don't think it's difficult at all. I've changed the fans on most of the PSUs I use. It's just a matter of unscrewing the fan, cutting/stripping wires, and soldering/twisting barewires together and covering with heatshrink/electrical tape, just try not to touch anything, or you might fry yourself.

But you do void the warranty. If quietness is important for you, I would just get a Nexus 3500, the guys at SPCR are saying great things about them.

I have a Zalman 400 w/ a L1A... it's pretty quiet, but not good enough. Time to go fanless\water cooled. 😀
