OMG !! with all the new boards i would really appreciate if someone could help me !! According to sticky rite on top some recommendations within my budget ( $100 - $150 ) were

GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3R LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard
GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3 Rev. 3.3 LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS P5K-VM LGA 775 Intel G33 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS P5K-V LGA775 Intel G33 ATX Intel Motherboard
MSI P6N SLI-FI or Platinum
P5B-Plus

The choices are above are some from the sticky and some which were most sold on NewEgg......I Jus need a really good board for a price range of $100 - $150......

But i have no idea on which to place my new q6600 (tht is abt to be shipped).......What should you look for in a motherboard in the 1st place......... ?_?

Can you spend a little more? The Abit IP35 pro is $180 but has heatpipe cooling, dual 10/100/1000 LAN, IEE1394, back panel CMOS reset switch, 6x USB 2.0.

If not I'd get the Gigabyte DS3R

Hmm..... ABIT IP35 Pro LGA 775 Intel P35......are they like the best one's out there within that price range ???

pretty much all the major mfrs P35 mobos are good (& P35 is the best chipset atm for oc a quad).
Choose according to features that you need/price/layout etc.
mwave has the IP35 (non Pro) for $120 after rebate.

Can some one tell me whats the difference main difference between the Abit Pro n Non Pro !!!

Is this the non pro version ABIT IP35-E LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard, you were talking abt ??

According to some1's comment

"Quirky P35 chipset. From cold boot system will power on, turn itself off, then turn on and post. Not a problem or defect simply the way it operates, restarts act as normal. Don't be fooled it appears nearly ALL P35 motherboards do it"

Is this true ? the part where all P35 motherboard do it.......

I know that the Gigabyte DS3R does it for some people. I haven't heard of the Asus P5K doing it.

Abit has the IP35-E, IP35, and IP35 Pro...

The major differences are:
  • The E has the ICH9 southbridge with doesn't support RAID, the other two have the ICH9R southbridge.
  • The Pro supports Crossfire via dual physical PCIe 16x (16x/4x electrical) slots, the other two have one PCIe 16x slot.
  • The Pro has all solid state capacitors, the other two do not.

...I think they've all proven to be decent overclockers...

I'm really happy with my IP35 Pro, but I would imagine that the IP35 would have been perfectly fine as well. Fry's only had the E and Pro when I went, and I need RAID support so my choice was pretty much made for me.

Will it support future processors ?? And lets say i am not into over clocking which GOOD mobo would you recommend at that price range or lower ??

And lastly what about temp. and power supply requirement with a q6600 g0 step.....would it be like a must that i would have to get extra cooling equipments or are the stock products enough....bcoz would be running my system 24/7 (not gaming !! )....and what PSU shuld i have to run a rig with vdo card, sound card, 2GB ram, burner and one SATA2 HD !!

EDIT-----I am not a hardcore gamer

You know what im goin with ABIT IP35 Pro........Burning a HOLE in my pocket T_T............I hope it works weelll for the next 4-5 years
