I am considering purchasing a hard drive, and I am wondering what things to look for such as backwards compatibility for ATA II, Native Command Queing Feature, etc.

Space is not much of an issue but budget is around $100 depending on the hard drive..

Thanks to everyone in advance.

Maybe I should have been more specific.. I have already been convinced not to go with raptor, now and im wondering if this will do link.

Its a $60 Serial ATA II drive with 3 years warranty but it doesnt seem to feature anything besides backwards compability. If there is such a thing would this be a low end drive?

That drive is perfect and would be my recommendation for a 80GB drive.

Check out WalMart. They have the 160Gb Seagate ATA/100 for under $100. Or go to CompUSA and get the same thing for $120 but it comes with an $80 rebate. Or buy it first from CompUSA then get them to pricematch the WalMart price and get it for ~$20 net.

:)

T7k250 160 GB
This is a 160 GB and is the Fastest 7200 RPM hdd out there and only $86.

Although Same family just a fast they have this
T7k250 250GB
its $123 its a little over the price you set but has a terrrific $ per gig price and again nothing beats it performance vs. price.

Both work fine with SATA I or II and can be adapted to ATA 133 if need be.
