Basically, my girlfriend broke my Logitech G7. (I know, takes the piss).

The scroll wheel no longer works as she dropped it right on it pretty hard, and now it's fuggered.
I'll try and get a warranty replacement, but you know how long these things take.

My new PC just literally arrived today, and I've just had a taste of what it has to offer.
Only to now be mouseless and not be able to play any games on it properly. :(

I need a new mouse quick time, money no object, I absolutely loved the G7, wireless'ness is a dream, but the battery changes and lack of that one button do annoy, as well as it's slipperyness after a while.
Good thing was that it performed just fantasticly. But truth is, I havent tried a wireless mouse since the scroll balls, so I'm not sure they would annoy me much.

Performance difference, any between the 3 mouses above?
My main uses are gaming and design work. Games wise, I use 1600dpi or 2000dpi.

Which mouse would you choose and why?
Remember, money no object.

Thanks guys

I would personally go with the G5; which is what I have on my machine, you will never notice the cord being there unless you have your computer a LONG way awy from your computer. The cord is plenty long enough, and since it is wrapped in woven cloth, it doesn't catch on things like normal plastic cords.

A week or so is still a fair bit of time :(

Please don't complain if Logitech sends you a brand new mouse for free because you dropped yours and a week takes too long.

Well, G5 has one button as well, so that might not be the best choice.

There's the Razer Diamondback/Copperhead, if you want to try those out, too. Check if you like the grip.

A cheap alternative to the Logitechs would be the Optorite Lazer mouse.

There's also the fatality gaming mouse from Creative, and that little ufo knob thing that was going around.

I have several Logitech trackballs and even a wireless mouse. Logitech really have us, people in mind with their mice designs. Good prices and reliability make them very popular,

I bought a G5, couldnt be happier.
I absolutely love it, and even prefer it to my G7!
The wire never gets in the way, it's lighter (hense more responsive), better grip/texture and looks better.
Plus not having to ever change batteries is very nice.

I got my replacement G7 too, very quickly.
Now I'm ebaying it for £55 :D

I own the G7 and its awesome. The batteries go out fast but you get 2. I swap the batteries about 1 a day for normal use or 2x for BF2 Saturdays :)

I whole-heartedly recommend it. It's Super responsive even though its wireless. Wired mice are yesterdays papers.

I had originally bought a Razor Copperhead (or whichever is the newest, I forget) and it didn't like my PC. Seems like other people had the same problem. The buttons are also akwarded (SP) placed.

I just picked this mouse up, and I love it. If I could have afforded it though I would have gotten the G5, I like the texture better than the G7.

If you don't mind paying a few bucks more (after shipping) but want to get it instore, it's $42.49 at CC if you order online (request instore pickup).

G7 is great for me right now, been using it for a few months. If you don't really want wireless, then just stick with the G5. With the G7 you have the added need to change batteries every other day.

Razor's are overated, personally old school MS Explorer mouse with 5buttons and some skids on it will save you money and give you similar performance as the G7
